I sat there by the foggy window
and I looked outside
and I waited;
I waited through the snow
and I waited through the rain
I waited with tears
and I waited with pain
I waited through the lonely years
and I waited through the bitter nights
and I watched;
I watched the sun start to shine
and I watched the trees start to grow
I watched the leaves start to fall
and I watched the air turn cold
and I noticed lots of things
I noticed the mold
on the walls
and I noticed the cracks
in the sidewalk
and I saw
I saw people fall in love
and I saw animals be born
i saw all the bright stars
and I saw every blooming flower
and I remembered
I remembered all the fancy cars
and I remembered the people in the windows of each tower
I remembered the last words you said
and I remembered the clothes you wore
silly me
I was wanting more
but I should've realized
you were never gunna walk through that door
never again
and that broke me
