Poem #138

"I've always been warned about the people who kill with guns or knives
But never the ones who kill with love and lies
I've always been taught to stay clear of the boys in the leather jackets
But never the girls who are as sweet as sugar packets
My whole life I was told never to talk back to people
But no ones ever told me how to use my voice correctly
Everyday I was asked to wipe my tears, to get up and face my fears
But no ones ever asked me why I cry or why'd I wish to die
And finally, I've always been demanded to be pretty, polite and everything nice
But no ones ever considered that some people are beautiful, loud, and have some spice."
