"I understand a lot for my age
I grasp the meaning behind a good book
And I can listen to a sad song and feel what the artist is feeling deep down in my heart
I can tell a real smile from a fake one
And I can tell what people's cuts are really from
Life has not been easy on me, and for this I know many things
Like what it's like to hold sharp objects to your body
Or throw away meals to be beautiful
I understand what it's like to lay in bed at night screaming into your pillow because that's the only way you know how to feel
Or wanting to break your mirror
But the one thing I have yet to learn or understand
Is why bad things happen to good people
And why the most beautiful eyes cry themselves to sleep because their heart is too heavy
I will never get why the world wants to make people with the strongest hearts pray for it to stop beating
Or why my best friends can't see themselves like how I see them
And for that they hate on their self
I fail to see why kids my age will never get a happy ending because they thought that they needed to take control and end it themselves
But there is one thing that stands out to me the most
That is, why the best people always die."
