"YOU HAVE NO

idea how much you're hurting me," The blonde told him, tears threatening to fall out of his eyes. "What are you keeping from me, Daniel? We promised to tell each other everything. What's going on with you?" The salty, warm droplets were sliding down Corbyn's cheeks, Daniel standing in front of him while the older confronted him. "Nothing. There's nothing," Corbyn shook his head, leaning his head back in frustration. "There's obviously something, Daniel! You aren't yourself! Do you know how that's making me feel? It's like you've run out of love for me and the only person who i want so close to me, is just gone. Gone,"

"It's nothing, Corbyn. Now, leave it alone. Leave me alone," Daniel locked their eyes in the last sentence, seeing Corbyn's heart break through the frozen-blue eyes. "No. No, i'm not letting you do that. I swore i would always be there for you, Daniel and you did the same. Why can't you just tell me what's going on?"

"Because you don't want to get involved in this! Now shut up and let me do my damn work," Corbyn flinched heavily when Daniel yelled at him from behind his dark-wooden desk, looking at the blonde with slightly fearful eyes; he knew Daniel would never hurt him, but the slightest bit of doubt crossed through his eyes. "O-okay," The older stuttered, turning around quickly and walking out of the in-house office.

"I heard yelling, what's wrong?" Corbyn looked up at the voice, seeing someone he hadn't thought of, nor seen in a long time. "It's nothing, Jonah. How are you? It's good to see you," Jonah stretched his arms and pulled Corbyn to his chest, hugging the younger blonde tightly and letting his shaking come to a stop. "I'm okay. I just need to talk to Daniel about a few things," Corbyn sighed inaudibly, feeling Jonah kiss his head. "I will see you later, bub," Jonah walked past him, a nervous smile on his face as he enters Daniel's office.

Loud yelling immediately entered Corbyn's ears through the big, brown-wooden door. He hadn't moved yet, but he had to soon; seeing as the yelling got quieter, yet better to understand.

"Daniel, if you make this choice, the whole gang is going to rebel against you. You know the rules, you made them up. Stop doing this, or it will get not only you, but Corbyn in danger, too," A fist slammed against the desk, Daniel standing from his seat and glaring into Jonah's eyes. "I am the boss! I am the one making the decisions! I am the one who is responsible for everything that happens! I am the one who built this up!" Daniel paused, taking a breath and unlocking their eyes, before he looked up and connected blue with blue. "You don't know shit, Jonah. You don't know what's going on. You don't know what will happen if i don't accept Avery's so-called offer,"

The brunette sighed, leaning his head back and closing his eyes. "Then tell me," Jonah whispered, tears glazing his eyes. It was obvious to the brunette that Daniel was hiding things, it had been for the past year, but never did Daniel tell his best friend a thing. "Just leave it alone, please. Go do your work. You have twenty hours to do so, or we're all screwed. Especially Corbyn and i," Jonah just nodded at him, turning around without a goodbye and slamming the door shut behind him.

Daniel jumped at the loud sound, bringing his knees up to his chest. The slamming of the door slightly triggered something in his brain. The blonde could hear the yells, the cries, the flickers of the fire as the house burned down; it all started with a slam of the door and his mother, sister and two brothers were burned alive in the biggest house fire their town had ever seen.
