As soon as we pull up to the main house, I throw the door open and rush over to Derreck's side - I don't even care that Rhys didn't even stop the car before I made my escape...much less if he parked it. I instantly launch myself into my mate's open arms as I breath in his wonderful scent - it's like wild berries and waffles, an oddly intoxicating scent. Honestly, even though it's only been a couple hours, I miss him much too much to even care about what the others may think about what I've just done.

Derreck chuckles under his breath, pulling me closer in his strong arms, before brushing his lips against my ear in a way that sends a shiver down my spine. "What's the occasion?"

"There isn't one." I say, managing to give a small shrug from the confines of his embrace. "I just wanted you close, you know?"

He chuckles again, that sexy noise hitting me in places only he can touch - like my racing heart heart and...well, yeah. "Well, I'll gladly tend to whatever you need me to do. Whether it's rubbing your aching feet after a long day, holding you tight when you're upset, making you laugh when it's boring or just for fun, or making you scream in delight as I...."

I clamp my hand over his mouth quickly, effectively shutting him up as I look around to make sure the others haven't heard. "Derreck!"

"Personally, my favorite is the last one - especially since I know all the right moves." He says, moving my hand away as he gives me a cheeky grin.

I glare at him - not even remotely angry, but he doesn't need to know that.

"I think you're oversharing." I grumble, pulling away from him and folding my arms across my chest with a frown.

He tugs at my wrists gently and gives me his best puppy eyes. "Aw, come on, don't be that way."

I roll my eyes and try my hardest not to smile at his adorable expression.

"I promise to do my best to keep you happy, even if I have to lose my dignity in front of the others by begging if you want it." He says with a hopeful smile, his eyes widening slightly.

I shake my head as my grin finally pushes its way to the surface, letting him pull me back into his chest. He starts humming softly as he shifts from side to side, swaying me along with him. Slowly the back and forth movement transforms itself into a waltz, right there in front of the destroyed Haile house with the others doing who knows what. Even though I won't admit it to anyone outside of my own head, I love to dance with this dork. Apparently, while he was growing up, his mother forced him to learn different kinds of dancing because - and I quote - "it's sexy" and so he could dance with her...mostly because his father had two left feet and no sense of rhythm. And let me tell you it is - the sexy part, I mean. Over time he's taught me everything too and will start this up any time he thinks I'm angry with him. Or just to cheer me up when we were on the run.

I personally find it adorable.

I smile up at him as he makes me twirl out and back before dipping me. Once in that position, I look up to find him staring right at my lips as he bites his own nervously. My grin widens as he slowly leans in, pressing his lips to my own. I eagerly return all he gives as I tangle my fingers into his hair, realizing for the first time that it's the longest he's gone without cutting his hair. He bites down on my bottom lip, making me gasp, and his tongue slips past before starting a furious battle for dominance...one I will not give up easily. After what feels like it could be forever and yet no time at all we pull away, both gasping for air.

"You are the most magnificent creature on this earth." He whispers as the sound of an incessant horn blares, severing our moment.

"Come on! You two need a room and we don't have time for that." Ian says with a cheeky smirk from Rhys' car.
