Izumi's POV

"Naruto, where're you going?" I questioned as he rushed out of the room, but I was met with no answer as he hurried along, "Ah, Shizune this is where you went?" I said as I returned to my room letting out a breath as I thought back to Tsunade and I's conversation. I never knew I could be so immature... It's not her fault that any of these things happened, "Any idea where Naruto was headed off so quickly?"

"He's heading out to train." she answered simply looking rather distressed as she went to leave, "And where were you?"

"That idiot..." I sighed placing my hands on my hips, "He said that he was going to wait until morning. He's going to kill himself if he works too hard..." I returned my attention to Shizune, "I was out looking for you, but you came here?"

"Hmm, me?" she questioned giving me a quizzical stare, "What is it? Is there something you wanted to ask me?"

"I want you to teach me medical ninjutsu." my tone was firm and insisting, "I'm sorry for asking this so suddenly, but I have to act according to my mother's wishes. It's not much, but before she died she wanted me to learn medical ninjutsu... Will you do it?"

"Why're you asking me? Your aunt is much more talented than I am." Shizune said making a baffled expression, "Didn't you see Lady Tsunade just now?"

"I have too much pride to ask her for help right now."

Shizune frowned giving me a hard stare, "Please, can't you forgive her?" I bit my lip knowing whatever the woman was about to say was probably right, "From the moment Master Jiraiya introduced you... I saw a light in Lady Tsunade that I haven't seen in a very long time. For just a moment I saw the kind, dedicated person that she once was... Don't you want her to come back to the village?"

"Please, don't misunderstand me" I shook slightly as I considered what the woman had to say, "It's not that I won't forgive Tsunade, but that I can't just yet. I know I'm being immature and nothing that's happened to me was her fault..." I didn't speak for a moment, "Just work with me for the time being. I promise I will come around eventually."

A small smile appeared on her face as though she had expected a much worse answer from me, "Okay, we'll start first thing in the morning."

. . .

This is a lot harder than I thought it was going to be... I flopped backwards feeling the crisp grass beneath my skin, It's been a week since then and I haven't made any progress whatsoever... "Shizune, are you sure there isn't some sort of trick to this?" she only laughed and shook her head smiling as she did so, "Come on...!"

Tsunade's POV

"What do you want?" I grumbled as Jiraiya stood outside my door.

"it's a lovely night... You want to quench your thirst?" he answered.

We sat in the stall drinking as he turned to me tossing a pair of dice as he questioned me, "If I'm not mistaken the week you gave Naruto is almost up." I didn't answer giving him the responsibility to keep the conversation going, "I wonder where he is... I haven't seen him days." the man commented taking a quick drink.

"Beats me." I replied shortly pouring myself some more to drink.

"I think I'll have something to eat. Bring me the special will ya!" the shopkeeper obliged taking his order dutifully.

I shifted my eyes towards him carefully pulling a slip of paper from my sleeve and dumping the powder it contained into one of the containers of alcohol before silently offering Jiraiya another drink.

"Ah, thank you!" he smiled bringing the drink to his lips before inevitably pulling it away as the shopkeeper returned with his food. I continued watching as he finally took a drink. Success.
