The Little Senju and the End

Third POV

That was it. That was the final straw. Any composure that Izumi Senju had left floated away. She stood still for a moment almost hearing the crack as her anger and sadness came boiling out.

"Playing ninja..." Her face was lowered as she grit her teeth and a shade of silver impenetrability washed over her normally fragile skin. A bluish fluid flowed from her palm solidifying into a pale blue staff that ended in a darkened stone in the shape of a crescent moon, "Kids... Is that all the village... All I ever was to you... A damned plaything?!?" Both boys looked on in mere shock as Izumi turned up her eyes to glower at Sasuke. They weren't the same eyes that always looked on with so much light. There was a certain darkness to her now pupiless, purplish silver eyes, "I won't believe it..." she trailed off clenching the staff tightly as she leapt to her feet intending to intercept the raven-haired ninja, "You're just running away because things didn't go the way you wanted them to!"

The staff crackled into the stone in front of Sasuke as Naruto came at him from above, "Are you telling me our comrades risked their lives for nothing?!?" the blond added allowing rage to take over his actions.

Izumi's foot connected with Sasuke's midsection at the same time that Naruto tackled him causing the two boys to skid away across the stone. Naruto readied his fist as his old teammate stared at him emotionless before connecting it to his face with great force. The blue-haired girl quickly joined taking note of the blood that had come from Sasuke's mouth as Naruto sat on top of him panting while the raven-haired boy continued to stare at him.

Sasuke spat blood onto Naruto's face as his collar was pulled forward along with the rest of him, "My comrades, huh?" he questioned, "If I'd stayed with comrades like you I'd never have gotten this strong... Now I'm going to where Orochimaru is."

"What are you? Out of your mind!" Naruto accused pulling his face closer, "Orochimaru killed the third hokage and did everything he could to destroy the leaf village. Whatever it is that you're expecting from him... You expect that he's going to give it to you for free?!? All he wants is to use your body like a new suit of clothes! There'll be nothing of you left! You'll never get out of there alive! You think I'll stand by and just let you throw away your entire life!" his voice grew in volume with each word.

"None of that matters now." Sasuke answered simply seemingly unbothered by the blond's obvious rage, "The only thing that matters to me is achieving my goal. If you insist on getting in my way... Well then, it can't be helped." he took hold of Naruto's jacket.

"Naruto, get out of the way for a second..." Izumi spoke suddenly, "Sasuke, if that's the way it's going to be, then I won't hesitate in fighting you because I wasn't lying... I love you far more than I bloody should." Sasuke stared at her seeming almost amused, "It's strange that I never thought about properly fighting you... Figuring out whose bloodline was superior... I was too concerned with you being an Uchiha to see you for you for a time, and then without my realizing it wasn't your clan that mattered anymore. You weren't an Uchiha anymore and I wasn't a Senju anymore. We were Sasuke and Izumi. Two people who needed each other more than either of them were comfortable with admitting..." she took one hand and lifted him so that their eyes were level, "Please, don't make me do this, Sasuke... I really don't want to hurt you." the real Izumi surfaced for a moment before fading away once more, "I don't give a damn about your stupid goals or your stupid fascination with power! I will bring you home whether you like it or not."

Sasuke laughed as he easily removed her hand from him, "That's a nice story you just made up... Maybe you should focus on reality rather than your hopeful minded fantasies." he suggested sending both her and Naruto splashing into the top of the waterfall with a few calculated kicks.
