The Little Senju and Goodbye

Third POV

Sasuke slowly released his lips from Izumi's noticing the emotionless, vacant stare that now made her face home. What was she thinking? It was always so hard to tell... She stared at him for a moment before glancing down at her slightly shaking hand. Clearly she was feeling something and something was going through her head.

"Why?" Her face still didn't move as she asked that one word, "Why're you doing this?"

The raven-haired male seemed a bit surprised by her reaction, "Why...?" he thought for a moment taking her hand into his, "I just told you, didn't I?"

She brushed away his hand forcefully before turning her back to him, "Don't act so carelessly! I'm not going to believe such obvious lies!" her voice raised in volume with each word she spoke, "You're just trying to distract me!" she accused crossing her arms tightly over her chest, "You just want me to forget that you're actually considering going to that snake bastard, Orochimaru!"

"I had considered staying depending on what your reaction had been, but based on this you couldn't care less about me..."

Is he even listening...?!? Izumi felt her fists clench and unclench as she limply bit her lower lip, "Why would I tell you all of this if I didn't care? And, I never said that I didn't feel the same way." there was a short silence, "Though I don't feel the same way... maybe..."

The young Uchiha scowled at the little Senju before running off to who knows where. Izumi sat mouth agape as she watched before starting after him. Was she already too late?

Izumi's POV

The sky had grown even darker by the time I had found Sasuke on the far edge of the village. How had he gotten home and back here so quickly?"Uchiha!" I called stopping the raven-haired boy in his tracks, "This is idiotic! Come back here!" my eyes locked onto the bag that had already been slung across his shoulders, "So you plan on leaving just like that..." he stared at me blankly unmoving, "You didn't plan on staying now matter what I said, did you...?" Don't leave me! "Why aren't you answering? Answer me, dang it!" I'm not sure I remember what life was like without you... "Please, just go home and sleep. We can talk about this tomorrow."

"There's nothing to talk about." his tone was dark and cold, "I have to kill my brother and avenge my clan." heartbeat, "This village no longer has anything to offer me, so I'm going to Orochimaru."

My eyes were blown wide open, "You don't have to do anything!" I countered clenching my fists, "Orochimaru just wants you for your body, Idiot!" Please, don't do this! "How can you say that about your home?!?"

He laughed and I could feel the distance between us grow, "And what do you care?"

I thought you liked me... So, why are you hurting me?

"You hate me, right?" he turned his back to me starting to walk away, "You hated me right from the start."

"I told you that I didn't hate you, but..." My body moved without my command, "You're right. I did hate you right from the start!" I rested my chin on his shoulder as I hugged his back and as much as much I tried to fight it I started to cry, "For something you couldn't even control..." I'm sorry! "But, I don't hate you anymore." I could never hate you, "The truth is Sauske," What am I going to say now? "I love you!" I love Uchiha? Is that true? It doesn't feel like a lie... "Please, I don't know what I'll do if you leave...!"

"If you're that desperate to stay with me, then come with me."

Is he being honest? I can't see his face... Unconsciously I activated the Seikatsu admiring his life energy. It was cool and mysterious, but streaked with longing in its swirling, purple form, "You must be kidding?!?" I scowled spinning him around, so that I could look into his eyes. He looked straight at me revealing nothing, "We're talking about Orochimaru here... There's no way!"

"Then there's your answer." he answered curtly seeming almost disappointed in my response, "Goodbye Izumi..."

"Stop!" I ordered snatching up his wrist forcing him to stop once more, "I won't let you leave!"

"Sorry Izumi."

"What're you--?!?" a punch was sent to my abdomen, "You bastard...!" I grumbled as I slumped to the ground, "I will look for you..."

"I know you will." Why did his voice sound so gentle all of a sudden? "I'm sorry I had to do this to you, but I didn't have a choice..." he picked up my weak body resting me on a bench before placing a loving kiss on my cheek, "Goodbye, I don't know when we'll get to see each other again."

Dang that pompous bastard! He couldn't at least try to make me hate him for that. I never knew that Uchiha could be that cruel!

As I slowly came to my body was attacked with a heavy feeling that didn't leave no matter how long I waited. My eyes carefully peeled open as I gave up on the feeling leaving only to find a tear stained Sakura fast asleep on my chest. I groaned silently as the events of the day before came to my mind. Where was I? And what the hell was I doing here when Sasuke had...?!?"

"Sakura, what's going on here...? Sasuke...?"

"Izumi!" she was already sobbing as she returned to the wake, "Sasuke he left the village...! the pink-haired girl continued as her face became a mess, "And Naruto and some of the others...!"

"And you let me sleep for what reason exactly?!?" I threw off the blanket before snatching my clothes and running out the door, "I can't be here when they need my help!"

"What?" Sakura's tears stopped momentarily as she sprinted out after me, "You were just in the hospital!" she argued grabbing my wrist, "You can't do anything in your condition!"

"Shut up!" I barked glowering at her, "Don't tell me the situation and then say I can't!" she backed off an almost hurt expression passing over her face, "I can do something and I will do something!" Sakura was now painfully silent as her hands fell loosely to her sides, "You might be content staying here a worrying mess, but I'm not."
