The Little Senju and a Goodbye to the Land of Waves

Izumi's POV

A red chakra billowed out of Naruto sending many bits of rubble flying in every direction. Even though a mask concealed Haku's face his fear was just as clear as mine. Naruto's chakra formed a long coil and the image of the nine tailed fox appeared grinning maliciously as his wounds healed themselves.

"No Naruto this isn't you..." I whimpered falling over onto my side, "Nothing I can do... I've failed..." after a moment of feeling the evil chakra I realized the truth of the situation, "Thank... The seal hasn't broken only loosened..." I couldn't help, but let out a sigh of relief at this I hadn't completely failed at my mission then.

Naruto no longer acted human, but rather acted like a beast not even using proper words grunting instead. Haku braced himself, but it was no use. Both him and I were in trouble if things continued on as they were. As Haku burst forward to switch mirrors Naruto easily caught his wrist and the intensity of the beast's chakra started to crack the ice mirrors. Naruto dragged back his fist and a small, dark chuckle escaped his lips as his fist connected with the masked boy's face sending the masked boy hurdling through his own mirrors. The mirror did nothing to stop him and the mirror splintered into shards of ice and a large crackling noise sounded as his mask started to break. The impact had sent me crashing through one of the mirrors as well leaving me tumbling across the bridge coming to a stop a couple of yards in the opposite direction of both the body of Sauske and the two fighting boys. Both needles and long superficial cuts lined my skin. The touch of the chill air left a burning sensation as my blood leaked out of the cuts. As Haku stood up his mask had finally started to crumple away and Naruto saw the true identity of the boy he'd been fighting with this entire time. Blood dripped from his chin as Naruto came in for what would've been the final blow. The ending that never was.

Before his fist connected with the boy's face again he stopped, "It's you.... The one I met in the woods..." Naruto slowly turned his face up to the boy remembering the kind boy he'd met in the woods.

"Why do you hesitate...?" Haku questioned as Naruto stood motionless with his fist still inches from Haku's face, "I killed your teammate... Your friend and still you don't take my life as retribution?!?"

Naruto twirled around to look at the body of Sauske and then punched Haku, but it wasn't enough even as the boy coughed up blood he rose again.

"What happened to all the strength you had before?" Haku whipped the blood from his face with the back of his sleeve and continued talking, "You'll never kill me if you can't do better than that. Showing mercy isn't kindness... Don't you see it's an empty existence... to go on living alone and unloved when defeat's already cost you your dream! Zabuza no longer has any use for me. I am a broken tool. You've taken away my reason for living."

I walked over to my raven haired teammate and placed my fingers to his neck. Just as I suspected... Thank goodness... I let out a sigh of relief. The boy whom laid looking pale on the bridge wasn't dead as we had thought. Even I hadn't wanted Sauske to die. Stay away from me yes, but die... No way. It was then that a bright light and a high pitched crackling noise pierced through the fog. The light moved dashing towards a large daunting figure. Red. That was all I could see after that a single color filled my view. Red. There in front of Zabuza, the daunting figure, was Haku with Kakashi Sensei's hand thrust through his chest and coming out on the other side. Haku's blood had been splattered on the bridge and both Kakashi and Zabuza.

"Wrong again, Kakashi." I heard Zabuza say as he prepared to slash through Haku in order to strike my sensei.

"Naruto stop!" I shouted grabbing the blond boy from behind, "You.. You don't need to see that!"
