Hello

(y/n)'s POV

I had just returned from Sophie's flat, after watching Molly. PJ had been out with Chris working and I had been given the okay that I could go and help her. I stepped in from the warm weather, hanging up my bag on a hook. Macie walked past me with tea, nodding warmly to me. A man followed her along.

Must be a trainee or something.

I shrugged and walked in, heading up the stairs with achy feet. I sighed and pushed open Dan's bedroom door where he stood at the bathroom counter.

"Oh you're back!" he replied, hurrying to my side. He kissed me warmly and I buried my face in his collar when he pulled back. "Are you tired?"

"And hungry," I murmured. He placed his tight lipped mouth to my hair, resting there for a moment.

"Go ahead and get some food," he replied, "Oh and don't mind the man following Macie around, that's just Leopold."

"Leopold?"

"In training," he replied and I still gave him an odd look.

"Leopold?" I asked again and he sighed.

"Yes, I know that sounds like a butler to a spoiled rich family," he replied and I giggled slightly when his hands touched at my sides. I let out a sigh when he gently guided me to the door. "Go eat and when you come back I might be up for a nap together."

I nodded at him, slipping off my shoes as I walked and placing them in my room. I wiggled my toes inside my pantyhose, realizing it might be rude to not be wearing shoes with a stranger in the flat. Nonetheless, I still tip toed down the stairs and to the kitchen.

"Good afternoon," Macie greeted me as I entered.

"Good afternoon Macie," I replied as she immediately set tea in front of me.

"Leopold, this is one of your bosses, Ms.--"

"You can just call me (y/n). It's nice to meet you," I said, holding out a hand. He took it and shook it. He was what one would expect, a tad older with sleek brown hair. He almost looked to be my father when he was in his forties.

"Nice to meet you," he replied. Dan hurried through the kitchen, in search of Phil, but stopped still to peck me on the cheek. I sipped my cup of tea.

"Are you hungry? Were you with Molly and Sophie?" Macie asked and I nodded. She hurried to make something, setting it on the stove to heat. She took a cup of tea to the roaming Dan once she did, leaving me alone with Leopold.

"So, what brings you to work here?" I asked, getting up to check whatever Macie left unattended.

"I'm transferring to a new butler job, I left my other because the family moved," he replied and I nodded.

"You work here?"

"Yes, I'm one of Mr. Howell's employees," I replied. I heard Macie call him to attend to something else when she returned to continue my food.

"I hope to help well underneath you Mrs. Howell," he said quickly before disappearing. I froze as Macie reappeared, returning to her spot at the stove.

"How was the baby?" she asked and I remained quiet. "(y/n)?"

"Leopold just called me Mrs. Howell," I said, placing my cup down. She glanced back at me and I swallowed.

I have always known that I loved Dan, whether I realized it or not. I had often thought about marrying him, especially after seeing Molly. I've missed the feeling of being married, despite the fact my husband wasn't the greatest. I still loved him very much. I had never been one to be scared of commitment, but something about Dan was just scary. A stupid misunderstanding from a worker was sending me spiraling. I pulled my hair back through my fingers, seeing Macie watch me with concern. I let out a sigh and stood up.

"Your food?"

"I'll just take it with me thank you," I replied, taking it from her hands. She stared at me strangely and I could barely wrap my head around one of the many thoughts going through my mind. I, instead of going back upstairs, headed to the terrace. I closed the door behind me, sitting down gingerly. I stared with worry at the other tall buildings near.

"(y/n)?" I glanced at Dan in the doorway. "Macie said you needed me?"

"Oh, well, um.."

"What's wrong?" he asked, sitting in the chair beside me. I glanced up at him as he took the plate from my white-knuckled hands and took them in his own once he set the plate down. I stared at him for a moment, my face white.

What was I so worried about?

"(y/n)?" he asked again and I smiled genuinely after seeing his face.

"Sorry, I just wanted company," I replied, and he smiled back at me.

"Well I'm glad to give it," he replied. I smiled wider, realizing that perhaps I had been thinking too hard about it. Dan loved me and I loved him, that was something I knew for sure. There was nothing to be scared of.
