Hello!

Enjoy~

(y/n)'s POV

"Mama."

Jeanie stared at me with wide eyes. Her lips were puckered, almost about to let out a noise. She had yet to say a word and had only made soft cooing noises.

"Mama."

She said nothing. Dan was sat beside me, watching the two of us. I had Jeanie perched on my knees in front of me.

"Mama."

"I don't think she's going to say it," he said.

"You don't know that," I said, bouncing her slightly.

"Hey guys," Phil said, waving cutely at Jeanie. I instinctively handed her to Phil and she always lit up when she saw him. Phil was often the one to watch after her while I was at the doctor. I cleared my throat of a gentle itch and stood up besides Phil. Besides Phil Jeanie particularly liked PJ and Sophie, Molly the most. They were already shaping up to be such good friends and Molly was intent on watching after Jeanie like they were sisters. "Well hello gorgeous!"

"Awe you're so sweet to me Phil," Dan said and Phil gave him a look.

"Okay, hello other gorgeous!"

"Awe, I mean Jeanie did throw up on me earlier, but thank you," I said. He gave me another look.

"Hello original gorgeous!" he greeted, hugging Jeanie to his chest and she shut her eyes while he gently shifted between his feet. I smiled slightly, placing a hand on Phil's shoulder. Jeanie looked up at me.

"Mama!" I exclaimed and she looked at me blankly.

"Trying to get a first word out of her huh?" Phil asked and I nodded, gingerly seating myself.

"I'll get your medicine and tea," he said. I nodded as he pecked my forehead. It had been six months and I had expected Jeanie to start talking by now. I felt sort of bad I hadn't treated her totally normal. I couldn't breast feed after I started taking my medication and the disapproving glares of other mothers at bottle feeding. It wasn't exactly commonplace around here. Not to mention finding out that I saw a therapist wasn't commonplace either. I had such a dirty secret that I couldn't tell anyone.

"You got it sweetheart, you're the smartest girl I know," Phil said, peering at Jeanie. She laughed at his expression, Dan placing a cup of warm tea and my medication on the coffee table. "Jeanie." Phil stuck his tongue out lightly and she squealed.

"Phiwwy!"

My eyes widened and I stood up again.

"Did she just say Philly?" I asked.

"I think so?" Phil said.

"Hi Jeanie!"

"Phiwwy!" She said, hugging around his neck and I grinned.

"Not mama, but that's so perfect!" I said. "Yeah, baby that's your uncle Philly." I took Jeanie from his arms and she peered up at me. "I'm mama!"

"Mama."

"Yes! Oh you're so smart!" I said, hugging her to my chest. All it took was Phil to rile her up. "Oh I'm so proud, I could just explode."

"Well, she is your daughter," Dan said. I wavered and handed her off to Dan. Too much excitement had sent my body reeling and I had to seat myself. A little dopamine to knock me off my feet. I smiled sweetly, watching Dan cradle her.

"So is Sophie coming over with Molly?"

"PJ is, but yes," I replied, taking my medicine. With almost exact timing the elevator dinged open and PJ walked in with Molly holding onto his hand. She waddled in, hugging Phil's leg along the way.

"Auntie (y/n)!" she called, hopping up onto the couch and hugging me.

"Hi Molly," I greeted, scooping her up into my lap. Jeanie glanced over and grunted, extending a grabbing fist towards me. "Oh, she's jealous." I took her in my lap, a child on either leg.

"Hi," Molly said, waving at Jeanie and Jeanie reached out, grabbing a hold of Molly's hand.

"Here, why don't you two play with uncle Phil," I said, picking the both of them up and setting them down on a blanket covered in toys. I watched Molly jabber at Jeanie, petting her short, wispy hair. Jeanie just sat with huge eyes, somehow intently listening to whatever Molly could possibly be talking about.

"Too cute," PJ said, straightening his tie out.

"Where are you headed to looking so fancy?" I said, leaning back carefully into the couch.

"I've got a dinner meeting, with Dan," he said, jabbing a thumb in my husband's direction.

"When were you going to mention that?" I asked, glancing at Dan.

"Now?" he said.

"Yeah, okay just don't be too late okay?" I asked.

"Promise." he said, pecking my forehead.

"We should get going then?" PJ asked, gesturing to Dan. They saw themselves out and I gestured to Phil that I would be upstairs for a brief moment. I passed by Dan's office, reminding me of my ex husband. I brushed a hand over my flattened stomach and pursed my lips. My mind wandered to what it would be like if I hadn't taken that walk. If Daniel Jr. would've been alive.

"Miss?" I turned to look at the groundskeeper. He nodded and led me into the yard, sweeping over tombstones. Dan carried a sleeping Jeanie in a bundle behind me. I held a small bundle of my own. The groundskeeper led us to a small plot with spaces reserved for us, a hole dug just large enough to place the small baby.

I knelt down on the ground, my lip quivering as I brushed a small kiss against the bundle and placed the motionless infant in a small box in the ground. He was so small, terribly small, to a point where he weight almost like nothing. I shut the box and stood, stepping back. I watched the groundskeeper begin to fill the hole and I latched onto Dan, looking away. He had a tombstone just as small as him with his name etched across it. I wanted so badly to apologize for what had happened.

I had killed him.

I settled against the mirror of the bathroom, coughing roughly. The tickle in my throat was getting more than just annoying. I coughed again, wet spit tainted pink with blood hitting against my hand. I ran the back of my hand under the running sink water so that Phil wouldn't hear the noise I was making.

When I arrived back downstairs, Phil glanced up from the girls to me. He noticed that I was pale in the face and he frowned.

"Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, thank you."
