(Y/n)'s POV

"I cannot believe you two," Sophie said, smoothing out the last minute dress she had brought to me. "I actually had to threaten a shop keep for this you know."

"Yes, thank you," I murmured.

"So why tonight?" I glanced at myself in the mirror. It was simple, I never really did like my last wedding. The dress had been Robert's mother-in-law's choice and not mine. The entire thing was planned by his parents, almost like an arranged marriage. I never wanted anything.

"My last marriage was drawn out and I never really was happy where I was at," I said. "I don't want to do the same thing."

He sped down the curve and I laughed, wind whipping past the windows. Dan looked to me with a wide grin.

"Hey, I'm glad you agreed. My last marriage just didn't feel right and I don't want to do it again," I said.

"Well I'm not like him."

"Oh! I know what this needs, hold on." Sophie disappeared into my bathroom and fished out a pair of pearl earrings. She placed them in my cupped palm and I placed them in my ears. "My God, you look beautiful."

"Agh, enough of that, where's Molly?"

"She's with my mother," she replied and held out a hand to me. "You're in luck. The marriage administrator at city hall owes PJ a favor. He's on his way."

"Thank you."

"You're really marrying Dan tonight?"

"Yes, without a doubt."

We were drunk on excitement and Dan nearly tossed me from the seat into his arms to which I shrieked and laughed, letting it echo out into the parking garage. He carried me to the elevator, bridal style, and I laid into his chest and shoulders.

"The administrator is her—" Phil paused and grinned. "This is the most rash thing I've ever heard Dan want to do, but weirdly it feels right."

"I agree Phillip. I also don't have anyone to walk me down the 'aisle', would yo—"

"Me?! Really?!" He asked and I chuckled.

"Yes. I also need a maid of honor," I said, glancing to Sophie.

"Yes!" She replied.

"Well go!" I shooed her from the room, leaving me with Phil. "Thanks Philly." He grinned and hugged me before bringing me to the top of the stairs. I heard someone put on a record and gentle piano music started playing over the static of the machine.

"Shall we?" He held out an elbow and I smiled, nodding. We linked arms and I let out a content sigh. How in the world did I get here?

"Deal?"

"It's a deal. See you tomorrow Red."

I took a step in sync with Phil, glanced over the railing. There was a beautiful set up, a few chairs for the 4 guests who would be watching and petals scattered on the floor. The stems lay on top of the piano and I bit my lip to suppress a laugh.

"You know, smoking really isn't that good for you."

"Is it now?"

"Yeah, I hate it."

Past the hastily put up 'altar' stood Dan. Dan only really smiled so genuinely on few occasions. He was happier now, but a smile like that was rare in anybody.

"It's like you've never eaten a breakfast sandwich," he said with a little smile, brushing a bread crumb off my face.

"Who says I have?"

"You've never eaten a breakfast sandwich?"

"Not never, just not all the time. It's been a while since I've had a sandwich in general."

Dan looked wonderful. His hair was neatly set in place and he wore a crisp suit. We neared the bottom of the stairs and Phil snatched wet flowers from a vase, handing them to me to which I giggled.

"You must see me as a murderer now."

"No, I just—I saw my husband."

"That's normal of any loss. I'm sorry anyways," he said, curling me up into his chest.

I stepped up to stand across from him and everyone settled into their seats. My cheeks aches from smiling and I watched him with sparkling eyes. It was small and impromptu, but it was perfect nonetheless.

"I want to tell you more about me. I want to be more open."

"I'm okay with that."

"We are gathered here today..." I tuned out the officiator, staring at Dan. We each said vows and joined hands. "Do you Dan take (y/n) to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

"I do."

"And do you (y/n) take Dan to be your lawfully wedded husband."

I peered our at my 4 friends, each of them smiling as well. I let out a deep breath through my nose and looked back at Dan.

"I do."

"You may now kiss the bride." Dan locked lips with me and everyone started clapping. The lounge became warm and I felt my eyes start to water as Dan broke away. He gripped my hands and we bid the officiator a good night.

"Celebratory drinks?" Chris poses and we all cheered. We all headed to the nearest bar, the sight of my new ring in the corner of my eyes, Dan refusing to let go of my hand the entire rest of the evening.
