Chapter Twenty-Three: The #5 Hero

"What do you mean sir?" I ask Principal Nezu, a week after I had finally woken up from my coma.

    Nezu chuckles, "I'm sure you're surprised. Well, I mean, the public did vote you in as the fifth most popular hero due to your sacrifice during the rescue of Eri."

    "I just..I don't think I should." I reply, "Plus, aren't I supposed to graduate from UA before getting into heroism like this? I'm supposed to have a hero agency, but I can't do that at fifteen!"

    The mouse smiles, "That's alright, there are plenty of heroes who don't have agencies until they are a popular hero for a few years. You can probably live off the popularity area to stay in the high ranks of heroes. Anyways, you will be traveling with your father to the presentation. For now, you can go tell your classmates. Your father will pick you up."

    I bow to the principal and leave the school, heading back to the dorms just in time to see the Wild Wild Pussycats enter the building. I notice Kota trailing behind and run inside.

    I hug him from behind, shocking him so badly that he lets out a high-pitched squeak. All of my classmates, and the other heroes turn to look at us.

    "(Y/N)!" Kota yells, hugging me again.

    I giggle at his reaction, "Hey again."

    "Are you okay? You look pale." He mutters.

    "I'm alright, thank you for asking though." I respond.

    I glance up at my classmates, "Also, I have some news."

    All of them turn to me, but their faces contort into looks of fear, not curiosity.

    "Don't worry," I giggle, "Apparently..I'm going to the JP Billboard Chart announcement with my father..because the public voted me in as the fifth most popular hero."

    Silence fills the room for a few awkward moments, before Kirishima practically throws me to the floor as he hugs me.

    "That's amazing!" He says, as he pulls away with a goofy smile.

    A few minutes later, Endeavor and I stand inside a large building together.

    "The Billboard chart, live for the first time from Kamino!" I hear a reporter say, "Everyone surely knows the magnitude of its importance! Up until today's event, heroes have not traditionally appeared on stage at the presentation site! However, it seems times have changed! Take a look!"

    I take a deep breath as the reporter starts naming off the heroes.

    "Number ten, one rank down from 9 last time, the Dragon Hero Ryukyu!" She says, I hear her list the sixth most popular hero and she freezes.

    "Huh, where's the fifth?" She asks.

    I enter from backstage, "Sorry, I was nervous."

    The crowd erupts into a mix of gasps and cheers.

    "And here's our new number five hero, Elementia or (Y/N) Todoroki!" the reporter yells, but someone from the crowd yells out a question for me.

    "Why is a UA student one of the top five heroes!?"

    I can hear another audience member answer, "Didn't you see her sacrifice herself to save that small girl during the Overhaul incident? Hell, her left side is still scarred from the number her own quirks did on herself!"

    I giggle, smiling as the reporter continues to name off the other heroes and their ranks. When she is about to say my father, I turn to see him entering the stage from the back.
