Chapter Twenty-Four: A Symbol

Third Person

    All across the world, civilians watch the broadcast of Endeavor, and the other heroes as the number one hero is sent to the ground. (Y/N), or Elementia is burning with pure anger.

    "Todoroki, your sister is flaming up!" Midoryia yells, as class 1-A watches the broadcast from the dorm rooms.

    "She better not hurt herself like the fight with that bird-mask guy." Bakugo mutters, staring intensely at the screen.

    In a car not so far away, Fuyumi and Natsuo watch as their sister charges the large Nomu, her entire body covered in flames. (Y/N) blasts fire at the villain with pure hatred in her eyes. She then stomps her foot, using the earth to create a tremor, opening up the ground. She uses her right palm to blast herself up on air and then she uses both of her palms to come flying back down on the large Nomu, pushing him down into the cavern.

    She blasts back up and out of the cavern, manipulating the earth to make sure that the villain can't get back out. But this Nomu is stronger. It easily punches through the earth, in which prompts (Y/N) to fix the damage.

    Suddenly Endeavor jumps up from the ground and attempts to get a sneaky punch in on the villain, but gets hit back instead. Soon the two heroes hear a loud scream, they glance over to see civilians attempting to escape. Due to the absence of a symbol of heroism, the people of the world are in a panic.

    This is (Y/N)'s chance.

    The large Nomu turns towards the crowd of people, as a baby begins to cry and others try to push each other out of the way for safety, clearly not the smartest move. The black creature jumps down from the top of a building, and attempts to attack the people but (Y/N) appears out of thin air and blocks the attack with her ice.

    "Do not fret everyone!" (Y/N) yells, "Even without All Might, the world is safe! I will make sure of it, all of us heroes will make sure that you all will be alright!"

    The civilians behind the (H/C)-haired girl cheer, "Another symbol!"

    Some yell, "Girl power!"

    Others are silent because they are just shocked that a fifteen-year-old girl just stopped such a large villains attack.

    "Elementia!" Hawks calls, "My feathers can't do damage to the villain, but I can help you go faster to match his speed. Please, allow me to do this to help you become our next symbol of peace!"

    Many feathers push against (Y/N)'s hero costume as the villain attempts to attack the civilians once more. (Y/N) flies up into the sky and comes crashing down with inhuman speed, connecting a fiery fist with the villains head. Then using the last ounce of strength, Hawks sends the feathers up higher as (Y/N) uses the air to make the Nomu come with her.

    The helicopter covering the entire attack catches a glimpse as the large villain throws many punches, and the camera zooms in to show that (Y/N)'s body is on fire, and the scars from before, from the Overhaul incident are showing up again. But the girl clenches her teeth and endures the pain. She blasts above the villain once more, but this time she uses all of the energy she has left to create a large explosion that shook the city for a few miles. And everyone around the world watches in fear as the hero crashes to the ground in a ball of smoke.

    When it clears though, (Y/N) is standing tall. She takes a deep breath, and uses both of her arms to fist pump the air.

    "IT'S ELEMENTIA!" a crowd of civilians yell, "SHE'S STANDING TALL, EVEN THOUGH HER BODY LOOKS ALMOST COMPLETELY BURNED!"

    Soon though, (Y/N)'s legs give out. Except Endeavor and Hawks get to her just in time to catch her.

    "So this hero work has gotten off to a pretty bad start, huh?" Hawks chuckles, helping (Y/N) lean up against the wall of a building.

    (Y/N) giggles, "Yeah, but it'll be okay."

    "Hold up for just a minute.." A new voice says, "A lot of things went beyond my expectations."

    The three heroes turn to see Dabi.

    "But well, let's do things in order. It's nice to meet you, I guess, Endeavor...Elementia."

    "Dabi." (Y/N) manages to croak out, "Touya."

    The black-haired villain chuckles at the nickname, "Clearly, you are mistaken hero..I'm Dabi."

    Then suddenly the surrounding area of Endeavor, Hawks, and (Y/N) lights up in blue flames.

    "Don't you even think about laying a hand on dad, Touya!" (Y/N) screams, lighting herself on fire.

    "(Y/N), what the hell are you talking about?" Endeavor asks.

    "I'll explain later, dad."

    Dabi laughs, "You won't be able to, he's going to be dead today!"   

He suddenly charges (Y/N), attempting to blast her with his blue flames but (Y/N) creates a wall using the earth, even though the villain easily burns through it.

    Suddenly though, the bunny hero appears and stomps in front of Dabi, stopping him in his tracks.

    "I saw the news and hopped right over." she says, "Looks like things are really heating up here, eh, Endeavor? Hawks? Elementia?" She lands softly, "You're one of those League of Villains bastards, ain'tcha?! I'll kick you to kingdom come!"

    "Miruko?" Dabi mutters, "Man, just when things were getting good. A little help, Ujiko?"

    Suddenly black tar-like substance starts coming out of Dabi's body, "Catch ya later, heroes. I'm sure we'll have another chance to talk, Endeavor. But until then, break a leg out there! But don't go kickin' the bucket, Enji Todoroki!"

    And suddenly, the villain is gone.

    "Well, for the time being, the crisis has been.." The newsman says, "Dabi has retreated..the enemy has vanished! I know my voice cannot reach our heroes but..allow me to say this! Endeavor and Hawks they protected us! Elementia, she risked her life entirely! She is as close as we might get to a new symbol of peace! Here stand the three of the top five heroes, they all deserve our thanks but the fifteen-year-old especially!"

    Soon Endeavor and (Y/N), as well as the other heroes who were injured during the attack are taken to the hospital for treatment. Back in UA, Shoto and the other students lay on the couch taking deep breaths to help themselves calm down.

    Two days later, Endeavor and (Y/N) are healed enough to head back to Musutafu. The father and her daughter enter the Todoroki estate together, where Shoto, Natsuo, and Fuyumi sit together at the table while the tv is going.

    Shoto and Natsuo intensely slurp on their noodles as they stare at their father, Shoto even goes so far as to comment on Endeavor's new scar..similar to his own.

    Eventually, though, Natsuo storms out of the room after explaining everything to his father.

    "Sis, I've never seen Natsu get that emotional before." Shoto says, just as the news comes on the tv.

    "It's been two days since that fierce battle, and the opinions of the number one hero continue to waver. But the opinions of the number five hero, Elementia has sky-rocketed. If the Hero Public Safety Commission wants (Y/N) to become a higher-ranked hero then they sure-"

    The lady on the news is cut off as someone off-screen hands her a new piece of paper, her eyes scan it for a moment.

    "And well it seems that Elementia has climbed the ranks, she is now the third most popular hero!"

    (Y/N) freezes in the doorway.

    The newslady continues on about the number one hero's opinions as well, but (Y/N) tunes the tv out and begins to think about her new ranking.
