'Haven't you finished packing yet Nic?' Indiana moaned just as I shut my suitcase.
'Now I have.'
'Are you excited?' She asked putting her suitcase on the floor in front of her, I copied her actions and moved to stand next to her. 'I've got to admit, it will be nice to get away.' Indiana's smile returned. 'And what'll be even better is Peter won't be there!'
My heart broke slightly at the mention of his name and turned my back to her hoping that she wouldn't notice my discomfort.
She picked up a bottle of wine from her bed and raised it in the air. 'A toast?' She cocked her head to the side waiting for my approval as she moved the bottle side to side.
'It's a little bit too early for that now don't you think?' I laughed going to my draw to fetch the glasses. 'Hey now it's twelve o'clock somewhere.' I handed her the glasses and watched the red liquid fill the space before handing one back to me.
'Here's to a stress free Holiday!' She said gently rubbing my arm. We quickly clinked our glasses and downed the liquid.
'Okay, lets do this.'
I've been feeling good today, whether it's the fact that I'm going on Holiday with my best friends, or the fact that I don't have to see Peter for three days I can't tell.
'Shall we go over the cabin arrangements again?' Indiana suggested as Calli walked through the door and grabbed my glass off of me drinking quickly.
'Nah, I know that I'm with Calli and Abby and that's all I need to know.' I smiled taking my glass back.
'I wish I was in your cabin.' Indi moaned. 'It'll be fine, you're with Jas and you'll just be sleeping in a different cabin you'll see us for the rest of the day.' I assured her.
'Guys the mini bus is here.' Calli informed us as we looked at each other. 'You ready?' Indi asked me. 'Hell yeah.'
When we got to the bus James and Abby were sitting at the back so I decided to sit between them.
'What's up Nic?' James asked making room for my big butt. 'Not much really, I can't wait to finally get away.' He smiled at me. 'It's such a shame that Peter isn't coming.' He laughed, Abby gasped and slapped his chest. 'I thought we agreed that we weren't going to mention Peter.' She scolded him looking at me.
'Well that technically doesn't start until we are on Holiday so I can talk about him now.' He rolled his eyes at her before turning back to me. 'It simply won't be the same without him.'
'I know it won't, I hate to sound selfish but not seeing him will be good for me.' Maybe if I don't see him from three days then there won't be the constant reminder of him everywhere, and I might be able to stop thinking about him for once. 'I guess it will do us all good to have a break from him.' He laughed, Logan turned around from the seats in front of us.
'I'll agree to that.' He high fived James.
'So, no boys in the girl's cabins okay?' Indiana said as the bus took off. 'Come on Indi it's not like they would want to come in anyway.'
Logan caught my eye and winked at me. 'Well maybe I would.' I rolled my eyes and harshly shoved his head so he sank back into his seat laughing. 'I know Logan, but lets just lay down some ground rules.'
'Can I smoke on this bus?' Abby yelled to the driver. 'I'm afraid not.' He shouted back. 'For fuck sake.' She groaned looking at me. 'When we get there I'll come and have a fag with you.' I assured her as I watched her slowly put her lighter away.
I laid my head back against the soft material of the bus and gently drifted off into a content sleep.
'Yo Bicth face, wake up we're here.' James said softly slapping my cheek, I slowly opened my eyes to see him towering over me. 'What?' He pulled on my hand lifting me out of my seat. 'I said we're here.' I looked out the window and took in my surroundings.
'Welcome to Devon.' The bus driver said to us as I finally got off the bus.
'Oh my.' I gasped as I look around. There was the most beautiful little wooden cabins up on a grassy hill not too far from where we were. Right in front of us there were large rocks that had been splashed over with crystal clear water that sparkled under the sun. The sky was bright despite the harsh winter's wind. The green of the grass contrasted with the blue of the sky, never have I been so in love with scenery before now.
'Oh shit.' Abby said from beside me also looking around. 'This place is beautiful, shall we go up to our cabins?' Calli suggested. We all nodded and thanked the driver before making our way up to the hill.
'Alright so lets split into our groups and go into our cabins, meet back here in half an hour?' Jasmine said while Indiana brought out the list of who was with who. Apparently these two had organized the whole thing while I was drowning in my own miseries.
'Okay so in that far cabin over there, is Logan and James'.' Indiana said pointed at a nice blue coloured cabin.
'The next one along will be shared by; myself, Jasmine and Katie.' (Katie was Megan and Abby's roommate, sometimes we hang out with her.)
'Right and lastly in this cabin behind me is Nicollette's, Abby's and Megan's.'
That's when I froze, how the fuck did I forget her?
