I'm pretty different from all other girls that I know, I mean I'm not one of those cute nerds or preppy cheerleaders. I'm one of those girls that like to just have fun and I'm jealous and hopeless at any relationship. I'll either be the best thing for you or the worst.

No matter what though if you meet me and I like you, you're stuck with me forever.

I've been in a long term relationship and getting over him was one of the worst things that I ever had to do. It was heart wrenching and painful but at the end of the day it didn't prepare me for what happened next on my long journey through university.

To be honest friends are more important to me than anything, they always have been. So for now I'm just going to have the time of my life and be who I want to be without judgement from anyone.

So this is my story of how I fell for probably the most unlikely person ever, his name is Peter and this is what happened.

---

'Nic come and play! The team is loosing without you.' Abby groaned trying to pull me up from the grass.

'I'm sorry Abbs I'm exhausted I can't play any more.' A laughed and dramatically laid down on the grass and puffed out of breath.

I had been playing American football for almost two hours and I'm not the fittest person in the world, so I needed a break. I grabbed the bottle of water from next to me and drunk ignoring Abby's looming glare from her standing position above me.

'Don't be boring. Come on just one more game.' She pleaded, but I shook my head and she sighed before walking back to the rest of our friends.

I pulled my phone out from my coat pocket and tried to read but the bloody sun blocked the screen. I placed my phone back on the grass and observed the game in front of me.

Megan stirred from beside me, I turned to look at her as she desperatley tried to tan.

'You know  I don't think it's hot enough for you to tan Megs.' I laughed and she sat up in fustration.

'Well it's bloody June it should be hot enough.' She moaned wrapping a cardigen around her and I turned my eyes back to the game.

James held the ball under his arm and Logan was running after him laughing as he did so while Abby and Peter sat on the ground obviously out of breath from their intense game.

'Peter think fast!' James yelled to him before throwing the ball across the field, Peter however isn't familiar with the think fast concept and ended up getting hit in the face with the ball.

I tried to stifle my laughter but I just couldn't his face was so priceless.

'Nice one Peter!' I shouted to him snickering, he flipped me off before returning back to the game. Peter has always been like this, clumsy but he keeps going anyway.

Logan came up to me and collapsed rolling onto his back. I reminded myself to stay calm and not pay him much attention.

I turned my head to look away from him.

'I'm so tired.' He moaned turning to look at me, he placed his hand on my knee to help him sit back up properly. I stilled waiting for him to stop the contact but when I realised that he wasn't going to I shuffled away.

'That's why I took a break.' I told him as I watched his right hand come up and whip sweat off of his forhead so it didn't stick to his blonde hair.

'You always were smart Nic.' He sent me a small smile and I nodded at him before looking away again.

He pulled out his headphones from his pocket and placed one in his ear and the other bud fell to his side.

There was a moment of silence and I could feel the unspoken words float helplessly between us.

'Your team is going to loose without you.' He said motioning towards the game in front of us.

'I know but they're just going to have to live without their captin.' He finally smiled and I laid back against the grass.

'I'm not playing either Logan.' Megan said from beside me emphazing her words so that he would pay attention to her.

Logan turned to look at her and nodded clearly not caring.

'Yeah but Megan you can't play American football.'

He had a point but I can tell that she wasn't too happy about the way that he was speaking to her. 'Yes I can!' She protested, even though she can't.

'Come on Megs you can't.' I said calmly to her, she looked at me and realised that I was indeed right, she huffed and went back on her phone.

'Alright then I'm going to get some food, anyone want to come with me?' I questioned the small group of friends that I was with, none of them replied or even looked at me so I stood up and walked off into the town to get my own food.

Before I could cross the road to get to town I heard someone calling my name, I turned around and Peter was running to catch up with me.

'I want food.'

'Well lets go then.' I said as we made our way into town.

On our way back to the uni's field I heard Megan telling the others about her boyfriend, Lucus and I shared a glane with Peter and we both rolled our eyes.

I hate it when she brings guys up because she always ditches her friends and I don't think that's fair.

'Where did you guys go?' James asks us when we sit down next to them, I sit next to Peter and answer him.

'Food.' I hold up my bag and he nods.

'Yo, Nic can I use some of your sun cream please?' Logan asks.

I nodded leaning forward to retrieve my bag, I handed him the sun cream.

When I was just about to take a bite of my cheese burger I heard Peter's laughter, when I looked over to him James had my sun cream in his hands and Peter looked...well pretty much like he'd been covered in spunk.

'What the heck happened?'

'Well, I asked James to put a little bit on my arms but instead he just...' He motioned to his now fully white arms and me, Megs and Abby burst into laughter.

Peter placed his hands on his hips before lunching towards me covering me in sun cream, I yelped while he laughed at my misfortune.

'Peter! What the fuck!' I yelled at him.

'I thought you might have wanted it back.' I looked at him stunned before laughing along. He may have ruined my clothes but I can always wash them, no big deal.

'Such a fucktard.' He winked at me before going back to play football.

I have such a weird group of fucking friends.

Lesson learned never give your sun cream to your friends...ever like just don't do it.

....
