Hey guys!

I am so sorry if the ending of this book disappointed you, I was going to make it a lot more dramatic but to me that didn't really fit in with my ideas for this book.

For this short bit I kinda wanted to share with you the methods to my madness.

The whole concept of this book was to get across the point that not all books end up in a fairy tail where the two love interests end up together. I thought that I would try and portray some real issues that happen when you start to realise that you have a crush on someone.

Now lets start with Nic.

In case you didn't notice Nicolette is very different from most girls you'll see in fan fictions. She's got tattoos, she drinks, gets high and has a lot of sex. I wanted to subvert typical gender stereotypes here and have her be the awesome one that for once doesn't need saving, because that happens in the real world.

Peter.

Peter was such a fun character to write about in the beginning, I wanted to use him to show that nice guys fuck up too but they're still easy to fall in love with. I noticed that most guys in stories nowadays are asswholes but I thought that Nic would fall for someone with a personality rather than someone with a horrible family back story.

Also my whole aim was for Nic and Peter to not end up together, I never wanted them to become a couple I thought that would be far too predictable. However, I wanted it to seem like Peter did like her but then the irony was brought in about how he had missed his chance because that happens in life. You don't always end up with the person you're supposed to because sometimes you're too afraid to tell them how you actually feel.

Megan

I used Megan to try and show that sometimes friendships fail, I wanted people to recognize the people that use them.

Zeke

My favourite character to write was Zeke. I used him to bring some comedy to the book as he is symbolic for most fiction novel's bad boy. He was there because he tried to make Nic fall in love with him and then I used Nic to show how it would be in real life.

Ben

Ben was such a nice character I might do a sequel to this where Nic and Ben have a thing but I'm not sure. I included him because I felt bad for Nic and thought that she might need a constant friend in her life as Peter was no longer present.

I loved Nic and Peter's friendship so I'm sorry that I had to ruin it.

Lastly, I ended every chapter with a little lesson that had been learned. I realise that most of these lessons were not practical and helpful but it's because that's what Nic felt, sometimes she just felt the need to rip someone's head off. I did this because I wanted you all to see that it's okay to feel how Nic did, you don't have to be fine with everything.

Mainly I wrote this because I didn't want anyone to feel like they were on their own if they could relate to this story. I wanted you to know that you're allowed to feel depressed and there is something you can do to stop it, although it may take some time. I wanted you to try and relate to Nic so that you don't feel like you're overacting.

Thanks for reading, all the love
