When Sammy returned home that night, y/n had already made dinner.
"So did you have a fun time at that dusty old studio?"
"Nice to see you're doing better."
He walked up and kissed her forehead, and sat down at the table.
She placed a plate full of beef soup down in front of him.
"So did anything interesting happen today?"
"Susie's still missing."
"What.. do you mean?"
"Well last night when you guys were at the pub, she wandered off and Wally hasn't been able to find her."
Y/n stared down at the bowl of soup, and could feel chills run down her spine.
"Where do you think she went?"
"Who knows. Allison's scared she killed herself." Y/n didn't like how plainly he talked about their friend's death. It was like he didn't care at all..
"What do you think happened to her?"
He shrugged, and continued to pull some music sheets from his bag.
"Careful, you don't spill anything on those music scores."
"Don't jinx it." he muttered.
Y/n could feel his almost emotionless mood pulling at her soul, making her loose her appetite.
"Hey, I'm gonna go take a shower. I ate not to long ago so I'm still a little full." She hated lying to him, but she couldn't stand the dark aura coming from him.
"Okay."While y/n was in the shower, she found herself lost in thought. It was really bothering her how the past week Sammy seemed to be a completely different person. Maybe it was all the work Joey had piled on him, maybe it was her getting into trouble all the time. Whatever was causing the difference in his mood, she didn't like it.
If only she could fix it..Sammy was already continuing his song writing at the piano when she had gotten out and while she ate her cold soup.
"Hey, Sammy?"
"Hm?"
"Is everything okay?"
"Yeah, why?"
"I'm probably just paranoid or somethin."
"What do you mean?"
She let out a long sigh and sat down beside him on the piano bench.
"You've just been acting different lately."
"I'm just tired and stressed."
"Well then why don't you actually sleep tonight."
She laid her head on his shoulder, and he wrapped his arms around her.
"If I can finish all this work then I'll sleep."
"Sammy. Lawrence. You are gonna march your pretty boy butt in there and go to sleep."
Her stupid comment made him smile slightly, and he sighed.
"Fine."
Y/n felt accomplished at her victory, and left the room, a big smirk on her face.It was about ten minutes later when Sammy finally came in and laid down beside y/n. She rolled over and smiled at him, and he wrapped his arms around her.
"I love you little sheep."
She responded by cuddling up beside him and putting her head under his chin. It didn't take long for the pair to fall fast asleep.✒️
"Sammy, you imbecile! You were supposed to knock her out! I thought you would be able to carry out a simple order like the pouring anesthesia into a handkerchief, but it's obvious you let your emotions get in the way. Why would you even care about this sorry excuse for an actress. Here use this, and DON'T kill her. We need her alive for the experiment to work."
Joey handed Sammy an axe, and fear was apparent across his face.
"Sammy.. what the hell are you-!"
"Just shut up for once in your goddamn life!"
He took the axe and slashed it across Susie's face. She had managed to jump back, but the anesthetics had her still a little woozy, so the blade of the axe put a deep cut in her face, slitting her mouth.
She grasped her face in the sudden pain and shock, but that wasn't what scared her the most. She was merely worried about her friend who was mindlessly carrying out Joey's dark bidding.
"Sammy.. You don't have to do this!"
"You wouldn't understand!"
He took another swing at her, this time with the back end of the axe. It bashed into the side of her head and into her eye. The terrified, bloody mess known as Susie, was now laying on the floor clutching the left side of her face.
She opened her still functioning eye and stared up at her old friend, and gazed right into those psychotic eyes. In that moment they had lost their charming coldness, full of blueish grey mystery, and they actually appeared red.
Susie took advantage of this moment to mutter a few last words.
"I love you, Samuel Lawrence.."
Those words shot through Sammy's heart, but it was too late for him to spare her. The back of the axe slammed into her head, knocking her out cold.
He stared at the motionless body, splattered with blood. Shock started to set in as he dropped the axe and fell to his knees.
His mind was racing so much he didn't even notice Bertrum walking in and picking up Susie.
The two business men left Sammy to the now empty room.
"Are you sure you can trust this guy? I mean what if he tells the authorities?"
"Oh trust me Bertrum. He wouldn't dare tell them. He just killed someone he was really close to. Don't think he would risk getting locked up over something like that. Besides, did you see the brute strength he used there! It was almost otherworldly.."
"So how exactly does this machine of yours work?"
"You'll see.."
The world suddenly went black, and all that could be seen was Susie floating in in the darkness. Her unconscious body was still struggling for air, and her wounds were being flooded with the ink. She was in an extreme amount of pain, as she slowly opened her eyes and looked at the unknowing spectator, opening her mouth as to scream for help, but nothing came out as she gagged on her last breath."✒️
Y/n shot up and grabbed her throat, gasping for air.
"No.. No no no.. It was just a very realistic nightmare.. Sammy didn't kill Susie.. She didn't drowned in the ink.. No way, it's not possible.."
She clenched the sides of her head and started hyperventilating as she entered a panic attack.
Once her thoughts calmed down she looked over at Sammy, who was.. crying?
"I'm sorry.." he muttered.
Y/n watched as the tears streamed down his face.
"Sammy.. What in God's name have you done?"
She got no response, but knew that her dream was probably the true answer.
