The cries of a baby were heard as he had just finished having a nightmare. But the sobbing subsided as a soft pale hand brushed the baby's forehead gently.
The baby began snoring peacefully once again as the angel smiled sweetly at the baby before taking him in his arms and rocking it.
"I'll protect you, I'll do whatever it takes to do it. . .I'm not gonna fail this time. I promise. . ."
The angel whispered as one of his feathers fell off from one of his wings and flew into the cold night air, as to one day, that promise would come true.
