Sigmund von Moritz (OC): Sixth-year Slytherin and transfer student. Sigmund is a pureblood from the continent and apparent faction head of the Slytherin Germans. Shades of military background in his family. Not a man of many words, he's usually content to let others do the talking for him most of the time. He's not the most expressive wizard nor the easiest person to read. For all of his silent seething at Grindelwald (there is a reason why he and his friends are in Hogwarts), he seems to dismiss the British wizarding world's current bout of paranoia against the muggles and muggleborns, considering them to merely be one weapon among Grindelwald's various arsenal.
Current chaser of Slytherin House's quidditch team and widely believed to be the next Slytherin captain once the currently-seventh-year captain Francis Flint graduates.
Sigmund is derived from Germanic elements sigu for "victory" and mund for "protector". It is also a name of a character in the Volsungasaga.
First Appearance: At the Slytherin table in Chapter 24 ("TheBest Laid Plans of Mice and Men I"). Appears again in Chapter 41 ("Aftermath").
