Rainer von Regenstein (OC): Fifth-year Slytherin and transfer student, Rainer is one of the members of Sigmund von Moritz faction of Slytherin Germans. Where Sigmund is reserved, he is more outspoken. He had grumbled, for one, of their inability to carry bladed weapons in Hogwarts. And his primary complaint about Grindelwald is this:
"If he must have a puppet, could he not find a real German, at the very least?"
"A real German? I thought he was German." Hermione said, mildly baffled.
"Of course not. He's Austrian."
Rainer is also the one who gave Hermione blunt praise on her expertise in handling wounds made by muggle weapons. Most wizards and witches underestimate the degree of internal bleeding it could inflict. Why, he remembered the time his older brother accidentally caught a bullet to his throat!
First Appearance: Shocking the more mundane Slytherins around him in Chapter 24 ("The Best Laid Plans of Mice and Men I"). Mentioned in passing in Chapter 55 ("Les explosions à l'école I"), as appeared to have borrowed a book from Tom that Melchior wanted to borrow for himself.
