Timaeus Crouch (OC): Seventh-year Gryffindor prefect. His name is the perfect pun if he's going to be the father to canon's Bartimaeus Crouch Sr. ('Bartimaeus' itself meant 'son of Timaeus'). Timaeus is the Latinized form of the Greek name Τιμαιος (Timaios), derived from τιμαω (timao) "to honour". A straightforward wizard who takes his duty as a prefect seriously.
First Appearance: In the middle of the action in Chapter 39 ("Hogsmeade Crisis I"), he is present all the way to Chapter 41 ("Aftermath"). He's there in passing with the Undersecretary in Chapter 46 ("The Ministry Man"). He appears again in the prefect meetings from Chapter 54 ("Returns to Hogwarts") onwards.
As of Mid-Second Arc: Initially sceptical about the rumours of Hermione's reputation, he now easily trusts her with his life if needs be after seeing her in action. It may surprise some people, but he does respect Tom as a prefect and would defend his reputation to anyone asking, simply because he considers Riddle as capable and takes his duty seriously.
