Ignatius Prewett

Ignatius Prewett: Seventh-year Ravenclaw, a redhead like the rest of his family and older brother to Paul and Peter Prewett (Iggy to his rambunctious brothers), he is an overachiever and the top of his year. Friend to Daedalus Bones and Anand Patil. An ex-prefect, he resigned from his post at the beginning of his sixth year, which caused Daedalus Bones to be appointed in his stead. Heir to the Prewett family which is part of the Sacred 28.

Before he resigned, his friend Daedalus had confronted him and asked him why, and if it was simply because he felt bad about getting the position instead of his friend, Daedalus really couldn't care less about it. Ignatius had shaken his head and simply said that he had far more important things to do, to achieve, that he couldn't spare any time even if it was to do prefect duties though he did not elaborate on this to his friends. Most do notice that he seems to be busy with many affairs out of Hogwarts, though many simply chalked that up to him beginning to take over some of his father's responsibilities as the heir of his house.

Asked whether he wouldn't regret it later on, he insisted that he 'has no regrets. None whatsoever'.

One of the very few wizards and witches who wear spectacles. 

'Ignatius' is from the Roman family name Egnatius, meaning unknown, of Etruscan origin. The spelling was later altered to resemble Latin ignis "fire".
