Nadia Dobreva. The beloved daughter of highly respected Aurors Jakob and Katherine Dobreva.
She was a rather petite girl, pale-skinned and rosy-cheeked, with jet black waves that cascaded just past her thin shoulders. Her eyes were the hue of a new spring growth, the kind of green that comes only as summer advances, bright and soft all at once.
The Dobreva family combed back through generations upon generations of Bulgarian witches and wizards, all of whom were successful one way or another, like her great-grandmother and famed Magizoologist, Ivanka Dobreva. Now she didn't quite reach Newt Scamander's rankings but, magical creatures were her pride and joy. Nadia herself was capable of performing magic since the minute she had learned to walk. Jakob had found that out in the most unexpected of ways.
He had just returned home after a long and stressful day when his baby daughter bounded over to him. To see her on her feet and stable was a shock, to say the least, but an even larger shock arose when she let out a sneeze which knocked Jakob right off his feet. His eyes widened at the act whilst the young girl fell to the floor in a fit of laughter, beckoning a curious Katherine into the room. She surveyed the situation and scooped up the small form, taking a knee beside a slightly winded Jakob. The couple looked at their baby girl smiling back up at them, "Seems our baby is a witch."
Nadia had always loved hearing stories of her childhood. She immersed herself in them, almost reliving the memories. In fact, reading stories was her favorite pastime. Allowing herself to get lost in the pages of a book offered comfort to the girl. She'd grown up never really having friends so didn't exactly have a knack for socialising. That didn't bother her though. When attending ministry gatherings with her parents or balls regarding her blood and family status, she would often slip away somewhere and dive into the pages of her book.
Having turned eleven just a few days ago, both she and her parents were anxiously awaiting the arrival of a very special and very important letter; Nadia's letter from Hogwarts.
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was one of the best wizarding schools in the world. Katherine attended the reputable school and never tired of telling Nadia all about her time there. However, being Bulgarian, Jakob attended Durmstrang Institute for Magical Learning. Unfortunately, this school had a dubious reputation and was rumored to put a lot of emphasis on teaching the Dark Arts. Jakob never agreed with that philosophy so decided to train to become an Auror, which is also where he met a confident and determined Katherine.
Nadia swooned at her parents' story and dreamed day and night of strolling the halls of Hogwarts. Any day now, that letter would arrive and Nadia was ready, ready to learn all she could about being a witch and ready to finally live out her dream.
