IMPORTANT: Just a heads up, I'm going to be switching up the timeline for this year since it makes more sense for my storyline. So, for example, the Yule Ball is going to be after the second task rather than the first like it is in the movie x
"Nadia! Hurry up!" Katerina called for the tenth time that morning. "The Malfoys will be here any minute!"
"Coming, mum!" She called back as she clasped the charm bracelet round her wrist and adjusted the blue rose around her neck.
She rushed out the door and descended the stairs in a not-so graceful manner, almost bumping into her flustered mother. "Finally, woman." She eyed her up and down with a smile. "You look gorgeous."
Then, a fierce knock sounded. "That'll be the Malfoys."
Sure enough, Lucius and Draco stepped through the door clad in all-black suits. Nadia had to admit, Draco looked rather dashing. "Are we ready?" Lucius asked.
"Yes." With that, they all linked arms and apparated to the World Cup since Lucius thought that was more 'classy' than arriving by portkey.
They walked across the field where massive crowds were gathered and cheering. Tents were set up all over. Nadia took in the sights. Music was playing and people flew overhead on brooms. Lucius sneered subtly the commotion.
As they made their way through, Draco attempted to make small talk. He'd definitely take advantage of the time he had alone with Nadia. "So, how was your summer?"
"Good. Me and mum spent all of it together. It was nice, not having her stressing about auror duties." She replied, a small smile painted into her features.
"That's good. I missed you." The words were out before he could comprehend what he just said.
She giggled, shoving his shoulder lightly. "I missed you too, idiot. You should've wrote. Oh! Did I tell you? My mum got me my own owl!"
"That's great!" Then his face contorted with disgust as a familiar voice was heard.
"Blimey, dad. How far up are we?" Nadia smiled but it was quickly wiped away by Lucius' snide comment.
"Well put it this way. If it rains, you'll be the first to know." Draco adding on didn't make her feel any better.
"The Konstantinovas, father and I are in the Minister's box, by personal invitation of Cornelius Fudge himself." He stated with a smug smile directly aimed at Harry as he draped an arm over Nadia's shoulders.
She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms over her chest, sending an apologetic look to the Weasleys and co.
Lucius then prodded Draco in the stomach with his cane rather harshly. "Don't boast, Draco. There's no need with these people." As Harry turned to leave, Lucius caught his hand with the top of his cane. "Do enjoy yourself, won't you? While you can."
Nadia furrowed her eyebrows. What did he mean by 'while you can'?
The group carried on walking until they reached the Minister's box. As promised, Draco led Nadia to their seats before anyone started harassing her.
The air was awkward and the pair could feel it. Draco gulped before saying, "You okay?"
Nadia turned to him with a frown on her face. "Why can't you just get on? You're all my friends and I love you all to death."
Draco shrugged. "It's just the way it is." Nadia sighed and opened her mouth to say something but her mother came over.
Balloons flew and fireworks were set off. The ceremony had begun.
