"Mrs May, I'm going to have to have you move to someplace more suitable. Boys I need your help." The girl called Cindy demands allowing all the bandmates including her to lift me and carry me to a dressing room.
"It's coming!" I shout, trying not to to have a panic attack as they placed me on a coffee table with a pillow on it.
"I need you guys to leave. Except the father." She demands pulling plastic gloves over her hands and tying her long blonde hair into a ponytail.
"Darling! I'm right here love, look at me." Brian coos while holding my hand as the "doctor" slipped my pants down to find a bit of a head sticking out.
"Oh my, okay ma'am, I'm going to have to ask you to push as hard as you can." She says as I scream while getting this small human out of my sore body.
I don't remember anything after that but the sight of opening my tired eyes to find the baby wrapped in a blanket and in my arms.
"Congratulations Mister and Mrs. May. It's a boy!" She congratulates while washing her hands in the nearby sink of the dressing room. I look down to find a beautiful child sleeping in my arms, his small hand wrapped around Brian's large finger. "I just helped give the greatest guitarist of all time's child. At a concert!" The girl squeals while drying her hands.
"Welcome to this world Michael May." I whisper at the sleeping baby. Suddenly Freddie bursts through the door, sweat dotted across his face.
"Brian! We got a show to do! I can't entertain this crowd forever!" He pants, the crowd chanting Queen in the background.
"My wife just gave..."
"Go Brian... we'll wait in the bus. And after, we should go to a hospital." I say slowly sitting up with Michael in my arms. I look down at my mostly flat stomach and try to take in what had just happened. Yes it was possible to deliver your own children but, I never thought I was gonna do it.
"Are you sure?" He asks getting up as I cradle Michael in my arms.
"Yeah, plus, I'd like to take some time to take this all in." I add, planting a small kiss on his lips, Freddie waiting impatiently by the door. "Go!" I demand followed by a wink as he scurried off towards the singer.
I turn to the doctor and thank her while also telling her she'll be getting autographs from the band because of her heroic act. She gladly took the offer and returned to her spot in the crowd while I, on the other hand, made my way back to the bus to maybe feed and talk to Michael a bit.
As I take a seat on the couch, Michael slowly opens his eyes to meet mine. His eyes were a beautiful green and he surprisingly already had a full head of small swirls. "That's what happens when two people with curly hair have a child." I say to myself, beaming at the small being.
He didn't say a word. Not a peep or cry. He was so quiet but so active at the same time. Every time I smiled, he'd return the gesture with a small babble.
"Oh how I wonder what you'll become when your older. If there's anything I'm going to teach you, Michael, it's that time is a cruel act that can't be taken back. You'll learn when your a bit older." I whisper to the green eyed boy. "I'll try my best to make sure you don't end up how I did."
"Are you even hungry? Lord according to my mother I wouldn't stop crying until I was fed. Your so quiet and patient. Your going to do such great things when your older Michael May."
He continues to say nothing, as expected. I gently rock him back and forth while singing a very familiar song to most Queen fans.
"Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?" I sing in a slower, softer tone as his eyes fluttered closed. "Caught in a land slide... no escape from reality..."
"Open your eyes, look up to the skies and see..."
Just then I see people begin to appear from all around the stadium. "Your daddy's gonna be here soon love." I whisper to the now sleeping baby curled up in my arms.
After a few more minutes of waiting, the boys come bursting through the doors of the bus towards the baby and I.
"Quiet down!" I shush them, every one of the them gathering around me and adoring the infant.
They all shut their mouths after my demand but the coos and awwws continued. Brian takes a seat next to me and gazes at the snoozing child.
I smile at his eyes fixed on the baby boy he had named. Carefully positioning myself towards him and motion him to open his arms before gently laying Michael in his arms.
I could sense his nervousness as he cradled him in his limbs so to step it up a notch, I stand up and ease away from him so he had him all to himself. He looked at me worriedly but relaxed after I shoot him a comforting smile.
I take a stance next to Roger and watch as the father of my child cradles him. I glance to see Roger kinda smiling at the scene. I smile at his before averting my eyes back.
"How is it that you already have small curls little one?" He asks the sleeping child who doesn't reply allowing him to keep smiling.
"He has your hair Bri." Freddie murmurs admiring the little swirls on Michaels head.
"Did you two already name him?" Roger asks turning his head to face me.
"Well if it was a girl, we were thinking Rose, but since it's a boy, his name is Michael." I reply turning to meet his blue pearls. A small smile crosses his lips before replying with a nod.
"Michael... it's perfect." He mumbles, happily eyeing the father and the child. I crack a smile at everyone's happiness in the moment.
'This was going to be the happiest years of my life.'
