Say A Prayer

No day's the same.
My life's a changing flame.
It's like I've been claimed.
And me- I'm the blame.

Every day, I wake with a groan,
realizing how far my mind has blown.
And in my life, a heart made of stone,
while you mock and sit on your throne.

I try to obey
every word you say,
but my life is so grey
when I'm your prey.

You say you care,
but now coming from you, that's rare.
Under my breath, I curse and swear,
but a sweet voice tells me, "Say a prayer."
