Walls

We argue until forming words is too much effort.
We scream until our voices go hoarse.
We stomp our feet until the ground rumbles beneath us.
We insult each other until we drown in our own tears.
We tear each other limb from limb until we are nothing but broken.
Even then,
We blame the material;
The barrier that
Encapsulates our raging bodies.
But the real barrier
Is within us
Our minds
Bleak barren
Desolate decay
Vanquished from any slivers of
Forgiveness
Unity
And hope
We once had
