Alcohol
Cigarettes
A tattoo
Vape pods
But no.
I'm "disappointing"
And "ungrateful"
When all I ask for
Are fucking
Alphabet beads
Friendship bracelet string
And chocolate chip cookie ingredients
You know,
I could be doing
Way worse.
Getting high
Failing classes
Having sex
Getting arrested
But no.
I'm "stupid"
And "lazy"
When all I do
Is fucking
Read
Participate in community theatre
Stress about college
And try to achieve a 4.0 GPA
You know,
You're right, Mom.
Why didn't I see this sooner
I'm really not trying hard enough.
I'll certainly try to live up to your standards.
