Ash's POV:
"Stop moving around so much already!" Annoyingly I looked up towards the ceiling as my mother adjusted the tie around my neck. I clenched my jaw tightly as I did so, this action must have angered her to the point she had slightly chocked me with the material. "Why are you violent! You're suppose to care for your own son." She clicked her tongue at me before she pulled my attention back on her."If only your father hadn't gone so soon we wouldn't even be having this quarrel." She had a point, if it wasn't enough apart from having to go to the ball and perform my father wouldn't be accompanying us at the moment.
"Alright come on out boys!" My birth giver called out for the others after she was finished with dusting off my shoulders. Even as we were right out in the living room further away from them, it was almost impossible to miss the groan that escaped from Paul's bedroom. He took longer to appear then the rest. One by one, Drew, Gary, and Cilan all walked out from their bedrooms wearing their suits and their masks that revealed their wide smiles.
Smugly and with high end ego, Gary corrected his tie properly as he walked down the stairs. "Such a shame that I must hide my handsome sexy face from the world but oh well." He imitated the stereotypical wealthy but his voice ended up coming out as obnoxious. Drew came down the stairs but with his usual cool and collected style, a minor hint Of smugness too. On the other hand, Cilan held a genuine kind smile while seemingly looking flustered.
Being gifted with the sight, my mother gawked at the pair with her hands intertwined with each other as she did so. "You boys look so handsome!" Her height difference with all of us showed even more when she rushed towards Cilan to fix the falling mask of his. He could only chuckle timidly once she pulled back and proudly viewed them all.
"Paul! Get out here, now!" It wasn't harsh nor was it demanding more of a gentle tone. With the voice of hers echoing throughout the entire house, the door of his bedroom opened but he was yet to reveal himself. "Come on out, please!" My mother called out for him while the others began to chant his name, Cilan and Drew actually doing so so that he would come out and Gary just joined in to tease him.
"Paul! Paul! Paul!" As if he was summoned, Paul walked out of his room and walked towards the railing up above us. A mixture of a bored and annoyed facial expressed resided on him as he threw a slight glare at the boys who had been repeatedly saying his name. "Brava! Brava!" Gary continued his teasing while clapping and whistling. This only earning a nudge from the oldest member.
"You boys look absolutely incredible!" Paul joined us down the stairs as we all seemed to circle the happy older woman who continued to fawn over our appearance for the day. "I do have to say that . . . I am saddened at the fact that Serena hadn't called to tell me what she would be wearing or if she would be going at all to the masquerade ball . . . ." My mother glanced my way with her pleading puppy eyes and her hands intertwined together.
"Calem did tell me he would be there alongside your dates . . . " I got confused along the way to the point I was left to ignore whatever else was coming out of her mouth. How was it that Calem would be there and her friends would be there yet there had been no sign of her going.
Third POV:
Acknowledging his younger friends puzzled expression, adding one and one he saw the reason for it and pulled out his phone. The green haired towering male pulled the lost narrow minded teen aside and handed over his phone to him. "You can kill the cat or bring it back with satisfaction, your choice." Cilan spoke lowly as he knew how this would create an even more dangerous atmosphere between Ash and his mother. With no hesitation he clicked his tongue and crossed his arms over his chest. "I rather not, I could care less why she isn't going to be there." Cilan rose an eyebrow, he let out a low chuckle barely audible for anyone around them. "You mean you 'couldn't care less' saying you 'could care less' means you care even just a little." Realization hit him like a truck, his skin flushed with an unnoticeable blush, coming out of the embarrassment and frustration he was being struck with at the moment.
"Alright I'll just ask Calem and not tell you anything, sounds like a plan." The older male was eager to get a proper reaction out of him, he could see past all his walls. He was that easy to decipher. The green haired male that towered over Ash, unlocked his phone and like he had said before, texted a message for Calem.
Even though Ash was holding a high front and crossing his arms over his chest while clenching his jaw, two sides of him fight amongst each other. His olden day youth full of love and the new him that closed off and froze his heart. You could say that was what Cilan saw, the child Ash that had cared for so many and had long fallen for his old friend. Maybe.
"Enough of the chatting, we should get going already! We need to head towards the place before even more people crowd the area." The older woman who held so much youth within her clapped her hands gathering the attention of the two secretive friends. "Come on, come on!" She huddled them all out, taking hold of her sons mask that she would have to put on him herself. Just right outside awaited a limo meant to take only those who were invited to perform specifically for the masquerade ball.
"Alright this . . . Will be fun."
