Thoughts:
I'm neutral on this one, too. I really haven't given it much thought before.
I knew it existed, but it was a small enough ship that I just didn't think about it much.
Anyways, I do kind of get why people ship this. Romano doesn't have near the level of hostility for Prussia as he has for Germany, and Prussia seems to have a soft spot for both Veneziano and Romano.
As for shared history, there isn't a whole lot, but there is the fact that in 1866, Italy allied with Prussia, and received the region of Venetia upon victory. Venetia's capital is Venice, to this is extremely applicable to Romano allying with Prussia.
It's a good ship, even if I don't personally ship it.
