Thoughts:
I don't ship a lot of Total Drama ships, but I really like this one.
I actually really like Courtney, though I wish the writers would treat her better (give her a decent writer, you cowards). And season 3 did endear Cody to me a bit.
Courtney was clearly very upset when Duncan cheated on her, and Cody was enraged by Duncan and Gwen's kiss. You can argue that it was because of Gwen, but he was already cool with Trent and Gwen. He'd already accepted that Gwen didn't like him like that. Yeah, Trent isn't Duncan, but still. I do think there was at least a part of him that was outraged on Courtney's behalf--who most certainly did not deserve to be cheated on.
I really like the idea of them comforting each other after the kiss--even if he's accepted he doesn't have a chance with Gwen, it doesn't mean he wouldn't be hurt by the kiss. And I think their personalities could mesh and balance each other out well.
Also, the fic "Candy For Your Thoughts" by Strix Moonwing is beautiful.
