Jilypad is great.
It's clear Sirius loved James and Lily. If he was gay for anyone, it was James Potter. He cared a great deal for Lily as well.
Textual evidence indicates that James cared a lot about Sirius in return, in addition to being in love with Lily.
And Lily wouldn't have made him godfather unless she cared and trusted for him a great deal.
So why not ship all three of them together? Part of Sirius's tragedy was that he lost the two most important people to him in one night, and all he had left was his godson--the child of the two people of the two most important people to him.
