I don't hate it, but I'm not really big on it, either.
Wendy, as a character, works far better when Dipper's crush on her is not the main focus.
Also I headcanon Wendy as a lesbian.
The age gap can be a little uncomfortable, but it wouldn't be a big deal once the characters get a bit older and it's less glaring. However, the whole "jealous even though they aren't dating" thing on Dipper's end wasn't cute. Like, his crush on Wendy was good comedy material, but I don't really like it as a serious ship. They're better as friends.
