Thoughts:
I love Cankraine. It's literally one of my Hetalia OTPs.
I get really annoyed when people write it off as crack, because as someone who majored in history in college...it's not actually crack.
There's history of immigration to Canada from Ukraine (mainly western Ukraine), and Canada was among the first countries to recognize Ukraine's independence from the USSR. The two also have a "Special Partnership" and a Free-Trade Agreement. There have been quite a few high-level visits between the two, and quite a few cities are twinned.
Canada's also pretty active in sending aid to Ukraine.
Hetalia-wise they would be really adorable. I can see their personalities meshing well, and Canada would see her more than just, you know, a pair of breasts, and hopefully Ukraine would see him as more than just a floating bear (which would make sense given the close relationship between their countries).
