Thoughts:
I...really like Prumerica. It's a really good ship.
My favorite version of this ship is America having an Embarrassing Teenage Crush™ during the Revolution, though other version of this ship are great, too.
They do, in fact, have history. There's the Revolution, which was addressed in Hetalia canon.
Prussia was also one of the first nations to recognize the US after the Revolution, and the two signed a Treaty of Amity and Commerce.
Under a Prussian envoy the the US, Friedrich von Gerolt, new consulates were established for a total of fourteen. 1.5 million Germans also immigrated to the US, and trade between the two increased. In 1846, the two founded the Ocean Steam Navigation Company (along with Bremen, where the port was).
Both America and Prussia sympathized with Russia during the Crimean War.
While Prussia was neutral during the American Civil War, they sympathized with the Union. Six Union generals were Prussian born, and General George McClellan used the Prussian saddle as a basis for his McClellan saddle. In the early phases of the war, Prussia delivered weapons to the Union, and during the war, most US government bonds were negotiated on the German Exchanges. Prussia also never even considered joining in on the the idea/policy of "negotiated peace" between Britain, France, and Russia.
Hetalia-wise, they could be real cute. They do have interaction in canon, and get along well. They would be an unstoppable power couple together. This is a seriously underrated ship.
Also, I'm an American with Prussian ancestry through my mom's side, which helps makes me very fond of this ship.
