It's adorable.
They don't have quite as much as Romerica history-wise, but there is some still there. Italy got aid through the Marshall Plan after WWII, and in recent years, they have a history of cooperating together on a number of issues.
Hetalia-wise, they'd be adorable. I prefer them as a BROTP, but I can see it working romantically, too. They get along very well, and it'd just be so sweet.
