Thoughts:

Good afternoon to everyone except Squipemy shippers.

And the person who wrote the Michael/Mr. Heere fic can go fuck themselves.

This ship is disgusting.

Not only is canonically abusive, the relationship between Jeremy and The Squip is one of the most abusive relationships I've ever seen depicted in fiction, and I've seen Batman: The Animated Series.

Let's take a look, shall we?

Emotional abuse: The Squip constantly degrades Jeremy and picks at his flaws, or whatever it deems as flaws.  It gaslights him, and does its best to cut him off from everyone who could possibly care about him or help him (reminder that isolation is an emotional abuse tactic).  It makes him repeated "Everything about me is so terrible/everything about me makes me wanna die.", which is a suicidal statement.  It also manipulates Jeremy throughout the entire musical, repeatedly disregards Jeremy's feelings and what Jeremy actually wants, and basically decides it knows best.

Physical abuse: It uses electroshock therapy on him whenever Jeremy does something it doesn't like.

Sexual abuse: It tries to force him to have sex with Chloe.  It literally takes over Jeremy's body to prevent him from moving (against Jeremy's will), and just gives a bullshit "I don't understand the request" when Jeremy says he wants it to stop.  Yikes.  Oh, and The Squip takes the form on an adult, and Jeremy is a minor.  So...pedophilia/ephebophilia.

Torture: I'm pretty sure electroshock therapy qualifies as torture.

Also, before people come in with "Squip Redemption!1!", The Squip is irredeemable.  It's an abusive computer.  You would have to re-program it, and when you have to force a character into redemption, it's not a real redemption.

So yeah.  This ship is gross.
