My heart's beating faster and faster as I ran down the dark street. I heard shouting from behind me. I was free. He no longer had me in his captivity.
I heard my name being shouted from his mouth. Keep going. I whispered in my head. Don't let him reach you. Faster. I push my legs harder and picked up the pace.
He shouted once again and I ignored him. I turn down a familiar road, people are here. I push myself more breathing heavily until I stopped in my tracks as my eyes went to the horrendous scene ....
"Mum?"
