"I think I want to go back to school." I told  my mom as I placed the menu down.

She looked at me, over her glasses and then looked back down at the menu.

"Are you going to be faithful this time?"

I snorted. "Mom, it's not like I just gave up on school, I was in love and I wanted to follow my heart instead of my brain."

She nodded.

"I've always told you Emani was a bad influence on you, he put you through so much." She stated.

"I know, and now that I've gotten myself together Mentally, and Emotionally, I'm ready to do something with my life. I'm going to be 24 in two weeks and I'm getting married in 2 months and I don't want to be a stay at home wife. Who cooks for the kids, doesn't have time for her husband, or lastly doesn't have a sex life."

"What are you saying?" She chuckled. "I was a stay at home mother."

I sighed and rolled my eyes.

"I'm not saying I don't want to be a mother, I'm saying I don't want to be a stay at home mother. I want to have a career just like my Fiancé has his."I told her.

"Well if you have a career, who's going to watch after your children? Their grandmothers?" She chuckled. "I think it's a great idea for you to go back to school, pursue your dreams, then create your family."

I don't know why, but I had the biggest smile on my face.

"Aw, mommy." I whined playing with her hair. "Who knew you could be so sweet?"

We both laughed.

"Have you figured out what you're going to do for your birthday?" She asked.

I smiled and placed my chin in my hands.

"Angel wants to take me to Hawaii."

My mom looked at me. "Hawaii? How sweet."

"We were thinking about having-"

I was cut off when I heard my Apple Watch ping. I looked down seeing a message from Angel.

Baby: call me 911

I looked up at my mom, seeing her watching me. I opened my mouth but I just stuttered.

"Go." She waved me off.

I quickly jumped out of my seat and grabbed my phone, running outside of the restaurant.

Dialing his number, he answered on the third ring.

"Hello?"

"What happened? Are you okay?" I panicked.

"Baby, I got promoted!"
