We had gotten the amazing news a few nights ago, just as we finished our last concert in Japan.
We were going to the Grammys.
All of us were supposed to fly back to Korea and spend our few free days there before our final concert in Seoul. But instead we flew from Japan to New York as soon as we finished our last show there.
Even though we were in New York just a few months back, it felt completely different being here now. The first time we flew here a few months ago was for our first concert in a stadium, that in itself was a whole new accomplishment for us. Now, we were back because we had been invited to the Grammys and that was surreal.
During our whole flight to New york, during our ride to the hotel and during the hours we had spent here we kept wondering if we were dreaming. Why would they invite us to the Grammys? Were we really all of that?
We were all extremely excited, but incredibly nervous as well. I couldn't forget the look of pure shock all of my hyungs, Jimin and Jungkook wore when we were told the amazing news. I myself was equally as shocked to hear that we were even allowed inside the venue of the Grammys.
When I was younger and watched the Grammys, the award show always struck me as a fancy one for rich and successful people. People that had actually made it, people that everyone knew deserved to be there. Therefore it was difficult for me to pinpoint at exactly what moment the Grammys and our fans deemed us worthy of even attending such an award show.
Had we actually made it?
That was the question that I was sure swirled around all of our minds as our stylists and hair-and makeup team got us ready for the award show. We had around three hours left before we had to leave and even though we weren't performing or doing anything other than presenting an award together, our nerves were still getting the best of us.
Our inner nerves mixed with extreme excitement left us all in weird states.
Namjoon hyung was still reading the short speech and dialogue for when we were expected to present the award. He was reading it over and over again even though he didn't have to memorise it, since it would be shown on a screen.
Jimin and Jin hyung were stuffing their faces with food to calm themselves down.
Hoseok hyung was sitting, staring at his phone even though it was evident he wasn't watching anything but a dark screen, while he was bouncing his leg in nervousness like a mad man.
Jungkook has always been cuddly and clingy towards me. But he hadn't left my lap since we got here. Even now while I was getting my hair done by the stylist, he still refused to get up.
But honestly, what concerned me the most was that Suga hyung wasn't sleeping.
And he always slept before shows.
Instead he was sitting very tensely, watching New York through our large window in the hotel room. Yoongi hyung had been mentioning wanting to attend the Grammys for years now and I believe that it hadn't fully hit him yet that we were finally going.
I sighed and slightly smiled. They were honestly all very adorable when they were nervous.
As soon as the stylist finished up the last touches on my hair I looked at my gorgeous boyfriend in my arms, who seemed to be deep in his thoughts, most likely about the Grammys.
He was supposed to get his hair styled after me, but he wasn't responding to our stylist who was calling his name over and over again. You could see that he was zoned out based on his infamous expression. His eyes were wide and staring out at nothing while his mouth was slightly ajar. The stylist and I looked at eachother and snickered at his adorable face.
