Lazily, your head is on my chest.
Our fingers are intertwined and our hearts beat simultaneously.
We are watching a movie in our apartment.
A couple of kisses are exchanged here and there.
My arms are around your waist and we reposition.
The ring on your finger is in my peripheral and I look at mine.
They are a set.
Warmth is shared between us.
Your lips caress my neck and I feel the chemical in my body react.
Next you nuzzle my neck.
Taking you in, I touch your thigh.
Suddenly, the phone rings.
"Ignore it." You say quietly in my ear.
This is what I want to do
I want to ignore it.
But I find myself awakening.
You still linger as a presence.
Realistically, it wasn't you.
No conversation has passed between us.
From what I understand there is no 'us'.
Sucking in a breath, I'm forced to deal with the memory of 'us'.
Guilt washes over me because I feel like I've cheated on My Sun.
When in truth, it was only a dream.
