Memories of how we use to be leave a taste of anguish.
Now the sky is clear and the sun is out.
An accolade of how far we've come is infused in our daily harvest.
Cognitive strategies bring out our past.
Psychoanalytic curiosity has me revisiting these years.
Pictures of memories, the sound of my sobbing, the toxic venom still lingers on each file.
This is our past, which I thought I deleted.
In truth, I only thought the memories were gone because at that time I was surviving.
Psychologically, I put the memories behind a wall of denial because I needed to do what was best for me.
On our battlefield, a white flag is raised. Our war is over and I can now access this part of my brain.
Many lessons can be taught by analyzing the self.
Truth chooses to tell the situation as is.
It is up to the person to make it positive or negative.
Looking back on our destruction,
Only makes me more thankful for today.
It is proof that it is possible to overcome such folly.
That two parties can come together despite their history.
And liberate the self as well as each other.
