All That Matters 2

THIRTY THREE

"Roll em in!" I heard Will say taking him into a room. Maggie pushed me back and Natalie told me he would be okay.

But they didn't know that.

I waited hours and hours and I was all alone. I told Jay and he said he would take the girls to his sisters in Ohio for a few days which means it would be a while before he would get here. I didn't cry. At least not yet.

I waited in the waiting room forever then I saw Casey and Kelly walk through the door running to my side. "Hey! How is he?" Casey says hugging me.

"We don't know yet, I don't know anything." I say getting up from my chair.

"Im sorry Erin." Kelly says kissing my head. I grab his wrists as he kisses my head waiting to pull away.

"I'll go get coffee." Casey says tapping my shoudler.

"Thanks Matt." I say as he walks away.

"So how are you?" He asks me as we sit down.

"I'm good. Jay and I are back together. One family again."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"Thats--thats awesome Erin."

I nod my head and then I see Jay walk through the door, looking around for me, he finally sees ne and comes over to me. "Hey how is he?" He says kissing me.

"Um I don't know yet they havent said anything. Still waiting."

"Okay, I never said anything to the girls."

I nod my head and then notice Jay looking at Kelly.

"2 coffees." Casey says coming around the corner.

"Oh um I will go get one more." He says turning around looking at Jay.

"Erin?" Natalie says walking over to us.

I walk to her and she tells me to go into a room with Will. That couldn't be good.

"Hey um I have to go talk to Halstead, just wait here and be nice." I say kissing Jay's cheek.

I walk into the room and Will tells me to sit. "Hank had a big big heart attack and it messed him up big time."

"Okay?"

"We tried to help him breathe but by the time he got here he couldn't barely even move."

"So so what are you saying?" I say getting scared.

"Erin there wasn't a lot we could do he's on life support and we can keep him on it but it's risky. Or we can pull it. I'm gonna let you decide." Will says opening the door.

I walk into Hank's hospital room and I start to sob. I rush to his side and I hold his hand. "Never forget I love you. Thank you dad." I say kissing his head and crying on his lap.

I tell Natalie and Will to pull it and I tell Jay what happened and I'm still crying at that point.

He was gone.

He wasn't coming back.

Jay called ghe girls and told them and then we went to the district and told Platt to make an announcement.

I didnt think this would happen. But it did.

Hanks gone.
