THIRTEEN

1 week later.

Things were getting better. I wasn't so heartbroken about the baby and I came back to work yesterday. I was working desk. Hank said that if I don't I might do something stupid after what we went through with the baby. Then Sargeant Platt called my phone and I answered.

"Hey Erin, you have a visitor."

"Okay send em up."

I heard the buzzing of the door and then heard footsteps approach the stairs. Then I saw a fire badge and Kelly.

Kelly was here.

I rose from my chair and went towards him, "Kelly! You can't be--"

"No I know, I know I just came to say I was sorry about the baby. I'm sure its hard."

"I'm okay. We are gonna be fine. But thank you."

He hugged me and held me close, I smiled slowly and closed my eyes. He touched my cheek gently and I touched his jand putting on a straight face.

"Kelly-"

"Hey, hey listen I'm sorry about-"

Then we heard more footsteps and then looked over towards them and there stood Jay and Upton. "I'm gonna go to the break room." Upton says going away from us.

"What the heck do you think you're doing Kelly? touching her-"

This wasn't gonna be good.

"Jay--" I said walking towards him.

"No Erin stop it." Jay said pushing me away and going towards Kelly.

"Hey man i was just--" Kelly said being interupted by Jay.

Jay punched him and Kelly fell to the ground punching him again. "Jay- Jay stop it! Stop!" I said crying.

Hank heard me screaming and came out of the office pulling Jay off of Hank and Al pulled Kelly from the ground. Hank took Kelly to the break room. And I went outside with Jay.

"What the heck is going on?"

"Jay you pinched his face out! What do you mean what is-"

"He had his hand on your cheek!"

"Jay that was--"

"What Erin! It was what?"

"Jay."

"Erin, if anything is going on you have to-"

"Jay please."

"You gotta, you have to tell me."

I paused, opening my mouth. Then started to say "No nothing is going on with me and Kelly I haven't seen him."

"Okay. I believe you. But I don't want him around you or the girls. Okay he still wants to be with you. But I believe you of you say nothing has happened I believe you."

I hugged him and then Hank called him inside to talk. I just lied to my husband even though that kiss meant nothing. It still happened I just couldn't tell Jay now. I just told him nothing happened.

And it did.
