All That Matters 2

TWENTY THREE

"Remy?" Nadia says sitting next her sisters wheelchair.

"Hmm?"

"What do you think is gonna happen with mom and dad."

"I don't know."

"Great." Nadia says getting up from her chair and leaving the room.

"Wait where are you going?" Remy asks her.

"Rem I can't talk to my friends or mom or anyone except you cause you know what I'm going through."

"Okay? So express it tell me how you feel!" Remy said throwing her hands in the air laughing.

Nadia took a deep breath "I'm angry. I'm angry that you can't walk, I'm angry that dad isn't here at night and I'm angry that all mom and dad do is fight!"

"Okay. Then I have a suggestion." Remy said rolling her wheelchair to Nadia.

"What's that."

"We make them stay in the same room for an hour. And we lock them in there and let it play out."

"And how do we do that?"

"Its Friday. Dad is coming yo get us tonight." Remy said with an evil look on her face. And then they started to make a plan about how to get them back together.

The girls had made a plan to 'show' their dad something upstairs and then when he enters the room their mom will be on their too. They wanted to lock them on their for an hour to just get along.

"Hey mom." Nadia said nervously.

"Hey your dad is about to be here go get your stuff."

"Okay be right back!" Nadia said as I started to laugh.

Its like they we're up to something. When Jay got there the girls were still upstairs,

"Girls come on!" I screamed from the bottom of the stairs. Not talking to Jay at all.

"Ahhhhh!" The girls screamed at the same time.

We ran up the stairs and they were standing in the doorway of my bedroom.

"What is it?" Jay asked going into the room.

"We saw a rat." Nadia screamed.

"Okay where?" I said going into the room looking around.

"Um under the bed."

I started to laugh and then I heard the door slam and the door lock. This was a trick to get us in the same room together.

"Okay girls! So funny now open the door!!" I screamed pounding on the door.

"We will in hour! Or until you two get along!"

"Nadia Marie!"

"Bye mom." I could hear her say as they both laughed.

"Its genius though you gotta admit." Jay said sitting on the bed.

"Whats genius? They locked us in here for an hour and its gonna be the longest hour of my life." I said sitting on the other side of the bed.

"Well, we might as well not be bored. Right?" He asked looking at me.

"Sure Jay. What do you wanna say?"

"Why did this all start anyway?"

"I really don't know, you bailed on us because of Kelly and all that crap. And I'm sure you're sleeping with tons of people right now. Huh?"

"Actually no, I haven't slept with one girl."

"Okay mom I'm gonna slide your phone in because someone is calling you." Remy said opening the door and closing it as my phone drops to the door.

"Who is it?" Jay asked getting up to look.

"Of course."

Its Kelly.

"Jay I haven't--"

"Just answer it Erin."

I smiled and hit the decline button "No we are gonna talk about this okay?"

"Sure."

Eventually that hour was up and the girls came to unlock the door.  "Alright you guys ready to go?" Jay said as the girls looked at him in disgust.

"Whatever." Nadia said running down the stairs.

"I think she expected us to get together."

But its not ever gonna happen. At least not for a while. Jay and I  were parents but nothing else right now.
