The whole day, I have not stopped thinking of his eyes that still haunt me and the gun shot that still echoes in my head.

This morning when I woke up, I heard on the TV that a man was shot in the apartment house next to mine and the police was there when I woke up and will be there when I get back from work.

"I asked him if he had any other hot friends and he said yes, maybe we can go on a double date, you with the friend and I with him" She says while we're at lunch break at work.

Kathy has been telling me all day the date she had with this guy and how she banged him the whole night. She doesn't stop talking about it.

Apparently his name is Jackson, and he's mysterious. He doesn't tell her anything about himself. Perhaps because she does all the talking, she can get that way sometimes.

"Oh, no. I'm not going on a double date, especially with someone I don't know" I tell her, eating my left over Lasagna from last night.

"Come on Eva, it will be fun. Besides how long has it been since we dressed up and had fun?" She asks, though it was more of a reminder.

She isn't going to give up on this, I know that. Once she gets her mind set on something it would take Chris Hemsworth to change her mind.

"Fine one date, but don't expect much from me" I tell her. Not even sure what I just agreed to. I'm not much for the date type, that's her.

She texts Jackson and she smiles at her phone. "The date is tonight. I'll come to you when I'm ready to make you look perfect. You need to get laid, you haven't for a long time. You do know how, right?" She asks.

I roll my eyes. "Yes, I know that" I tell her. I can't believe what I just signed up for. Knowing her, she will go full out on this.

"Anyway, did you hear the news. Some guy was shot by the Mafia boss, Xavier Knight?" She asks. My eyes widen when I hear her words.

I'm shocked and surprised. "Yeah, it was in the apartment house beside mine, I heard the shout last night" I tell her.

She gapes at me. "Eva, why did you not tell me, I could have drove there and comforted you. I know how much you hate guns and their shots" She says.

I know she wants to ask me about it all, but she knows what happened and she knows I don't want to talk about things like this,

"I know. I just wanted to do something on my own. I can't be afraid forever" I say, more like saying it to myself.

Lunch break is over and we go back to serving customer, and neither one of us spoke anything about it. Until the work day was over, I head home and go into my apartment.

Ignoring all the police and people that have gathered around the building beside my apartment one. I take a quick shower and then sit on the couch, waiting for her to come, it can take some time.

I'm not looking forward to tonight. After everything I'm more of a stay home type of girl, but this is for Kathy. She really likes this guy and perhaps I need to have fun for myself.
