Raz's POV

Damn it! Why did I have to lose Iz out of my sight? I ran my hand through my hair in annoyance and looked at Starla. The girl Iz found and my long lost friend.
"It's okay, Razz." She purred seductively at me.
I looked at her with annoyance. I blew out of breath and kept pacing. Ignoring everything else so I could focus on my task at hand.
Find Iz.
I huffed in annoyance and I stopped pacing. I walked along the walls and knocked to see if anywhere on the wall was hollow. I could feel Starla's eyes on me but I ignored her.
I needed to find Iz. I cannot believe I let her out of my sight just to help Starla. She was no friend of mine anymore. Not after what happened.
Angry, I looked everywhere in that tunnel and I could not find anything.
A hand touched my shoulder. "Stop worrying about the kid, Raz. She's fine."
I flinched away from her touch. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Starla. A long time ago, I welcomed her touch. But now, her touch wasn't the touch I wanted.
I wanted someone else's touch. I wanted someone else.
I shrugged her hand off me. "She's not a kid, Starla. You and I both know it. I'm worried about her because so many people want her dead. Who knows what they could be doing to her."
Starla made a noise and I turned around to look at her. Her face had a slight disgusted look to it and I raised an eyebrow. "I can see why. She meddles in things she isn't supposed to. She finds trouble because she likes it. She deserves all the bad things she gets."
Anger rippled through me and I pushed Starla against the wall. My hand pushed against her chest and I brought my face closer to hers. "She never asked for any of this. Never. Say one more thing about her again, I will forget who you used to be to me, and I will hurt you. You know damn well I will." I growled.
She had no damn right to talk about Iz that way. No right. Starla was corrupted and once upon a time I thought I loved her. Thanks to someone, my eyes were opened to reveal the real her. The snake that hid behind that beautiful shell.
"It's the truth!" She hissed. "She deserves every single bad thing that happens to her."
I wrapped my hand around her neck. "You deserve way more worse things than she does. Isabel Cipriano deserves everything beautiful and amazing in this damn world. And you deserve everything bad and evil." I let her go and backed away.
"You will never have her!" She cried. "She wasn't destined for you and you know it! She will never fall in love with you. When all of this ends, you will be alone."
"So be it!" I yelled. "She won't love me but I will love her. I will not give up on her. Destiny can be changed." I said. I clenched my fists as anger spread through my veins and I wanted to do so many horrible unimaginable things to Starla.
She smirked suddenly. "You look so pitiful. Look at you, being brought down by some stupid little girl." She shook her head and before I could do anything to her, she was gone.
I stood in the same spot for God knows how long.
"Well, that was an interesting show." A deep familiar voice said behind me.
I glanced behind me and saw him. I scowled as I turned to look at him. "What do you want?"
He shrugged. "You mustn't anger the serpent."
I scoffed. Serpent was the perfect word to describe Starla. "I know but I can't help it. She angers me too much."
"You are doing a terrible job, Raz." His blue eyes flashed. "Do I really have to call you Raz, brother? Raz seems like such a terrible name. I have no idea how you came up with that."
I ran a hand through my hair in frustration. "What do you want Luc?"
He shrugged again and he looked down at the floor. "She is evil, you know. Starla. She has embraced darkness. Can you not sense it?"
I shook my head. "No. I couldn't until she was angry."
Luc looked up at me. "You have failed to remain to your duties, Raz."
I looked up at the ceiling. I closed my eyes and I sighed heavily. "I know. You do not have to remind me, brother."
"I know I do not." He was silent for a few seconds. "She is an amazing creature. Nothing like I have ever seen before." I heard him say. "You do know that her destiny is not specific? She's destined to be with someone but it does not say who." My brothers voice was solemn and old.
I looked at him. He was an old soul in a young warrior body. Unlike me. My soul was yet to get wise with age. I looked at the ground. "You have fallen for her too, have you not?"
I was met with silence. For a second I thought he had left but I looked up and saw he was deep in thought. "Dark times are coming, brother. We must remain vigilant. I will help you in protecting her. But we have to wait. This is a part of her destiny." His voice was filled with deeply hidden pain but it was wise and powerful. "She has to overcome this by herself. She has to get stronger." His voice had turned icy cold through his last two sentences.
I didn't look at him. "I know." I whispered.
After a few moments of silence I looked up.
My brother was gone.
