Michael growled as he slowly turned and was surrounded by five creatures.
They were terrifyingly ugly, black eyes, darker than Isabelle's, stared at him. Their mouths had fangs that oozed black liquid.
Michael had no choice but to take out his two swords long swords. His bow was for long distance and he couldn't fight them much with it.
The bad thing was, he wasn't very confident with the swords. He was good with them. But a warrior had to have confidence and Michael didn't have much. But still, he held them up looking very much like the warrior he was.
Lucian come help me! He asked his brother through their link.
No answer. Michael tried again and once again he found Lucian not answering his cry for help.
Lucian was the best warrior of heaven and he was nowhere to be seen. Michael stabbed one in the eye and then he transported himself out of the circle of monsters.
He had not realized he had transported himself to Raziel, until Raziel's golden eyes looked at him with determination though in its depth, fear.
They were inside the castle, seven stoic warriors surrounding them.
Isabelle was behind Raziel, her skin glowing from the holy blood that now rushed through her veins. Her dark eyes were darting around, studying everything.
"There are too many, this has been planned!"
"Where's Lucian?" Raziel asked, taking out his shining crystal sword.
Michael growled. "He's not here. I don't sense him. How is it that heavens best warrior is nowhere to be seen!"
Raziel sighed, looking wary. "I know something is wrong with him. I don't know what it is. You know him, Michael. He won't tell me what it is unless I torture it out of him. His downside, he's very vulnerable. Strong but his feelings get in the way of duty."
Michael was about to say something but he felt Isabelle's gaze on him. "We can't stay here for long. They're coming in through the tunnels and the windows." She told them. She took her angel sword out of its sheath and expertly handled it.
Michael noddded. "Agreed. But we are surrounded where are we going to go?"
Raziel grinned. "We're angels, Michael. We can fly."
Michael nodded. "You go first, make sure there's nothing up there. Isabelle will follow you and I will be last to make sure that nothing will attack us from behind."
....
Raziel nodded. He turned around and took Isabelle's hand. Isabelle was disoriented, she didn't know what was happening, more or less. She had lost sense of her feelings. Her memories were foggy because of the transition. But as Raziel looked at her, she smiled. Raziel would always mean something to her. He held a huge piece of her heart. She didn't love him the way he wanted her to, but she did love him. She would lay her life down to save his. Just like he would lay down his own life to save hers.
He spoke to her softly. "Unwind your wings from your back, sweetie."
Isabelle looked into his beautiful golden eyes and nodded. Slowly, her large beautiful wings extended and Raziel looked at them in awe. "So beautiful." He muttered, he shook his head, as if to shake away the awe. "You have to flap your wings, Iz. Slowly and then faster when you have enough control over your wings."
As she did that, Raziel took his shirt off, revealing his golden bronze skin. Small scars littered his chest and back, making him look like the warrior he truly was. He slolwy unfolded his wings that were tightly pressed against his back.
