Chapter Five | Now She Sees You.

Bellamy gave Aurora a look. "Well, when you put it like that..."

Aurora sneered at him, rolling her eyes. "Don't act like y'all weren't thinking it."

"True." Wells said, sighing. "We just don't want it to be true."

"Wells." Aurora drawled. "They literally speared Jasper in the chest and dragged him away for crossing a river. And let's not forget the 5 foot hole with spikes on the bottom, as if the fall itself isn't bad enough..." Aurora scoffed, crossing her arms over her chest. "Yeah, let's spike the next bitch who doesn't watch where she's going. A broken arm or snapped neck isn't enough, dude. We need to impale these hoes."

Bellamy was staring at Aurora with amused eyes, lips twitching. Wells on the other hand was giving her a blank look.

"We get it." Wells deadpanned. "And also, what the hell is that language your speaking? Hoes? Really?"

"Yes, really." Aurora snapped raising a brow. "You got a problem with my vocabulary, Wells?"

"No." Wells sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose as he squeezed his eyes shut. "Forget I said anything."

"Hey." Bellamy said, drawing her eyes. He was smirking. "I applaud the use of words, honestly."

"Why thank you, Bell." Aurora smiled, mock bowing. Her heart thumped at the shortened version of his name but she didn't show it. "At least someone gets it."

"Bell?" Bellamy asked, once again amused.

"Hurry up, Murphy." Finn snapped, Aurora glancing their way to avoid answering Bellamy.

"Be careful!" Clarke called, eyeing Jasper with worry. Aurora frowned. She understood the worry. They didn't have medicine down here and Clarke was smart when it came to helping hurt people but she knew not being able to contact the Ark would be hard. Hopefully they could keep Jasper alive once they got him down. Aurora didn't want to bury another teenager. Especially someone as nice and goofy as Jasper.

Aurora heard what sounded like a rumble from her side, her eyes snapping that way. She scanned the tall grass and trees next to her taking a small step back. When she bumped into Bellamy she turned, his eyes scanning too.

He heard it.

"What the hell is that?" She whispered straining her ears for the noise.

"Growling." Bellamy said quietly, body rigid and mind on high alert. The grass started moving, Aurora catching a glimpse of a black blob but it was blurring past, leaving shaking threads of grass in its wake. It was moving so fast Aurora couldn't keep up.

The growling got louder, snarling coming. Whatever the hell this was was definitely hungry. Maybe this was why they left Jasper alive... "I'm not trying to be eaten today."

Suddenly the black blob was right in front of them, running at full speed.

"Bellamy!" Clarke screamed, fear clogging her throat. "Gun!"

Aurora turned to see Bellamy frantically searching his waistline for his gun. Then she felt her heart drop when she realized it was gone. She turned frantic eyes to the beast as it leaped into the air. Bellamy jerked Aurora back by the waist, shielding her with his body. She held onto him tight, squeezing her eyes shut.

Three shot's rang out.

Aurora was breathing hard as she peeled her eyes open, the black cougar lying at hers and Bellamy's feet. She searched for who shot the gun, eyes landing on Wells, still holding the black gun at the beast, eyes wide. Everyone stared at him in shock, silent. Aurora wondered why and when he had taken the gun from Bellamy.
